How did you get into cricket?

Michael Vaughan's century at the SCG in January 2003.

Honestly, I think it was Lasith Malinga's and Shaun Tait's bowling action. I was just so keen to replicate them, which in due course got me referred to the local cricket club. Quite a number of years back though.

Well I was born in Pakistan so I was born loving cricket..been playing since I was 1 years old and that was after Pakistan won the world cup in 92..which got everyone into Cricket even more

So you haven't been playing/likeing cricket for very long?

Got leather ball as a gift on my fifth birthday. What followed was 2 decades of bowling.

:doh I wish it was a bat.

For me I was in Queensland for my martial arts national championships back in like 2002. I was watching Australia v West Indies in a test, and I didn't understand it at all. I distinctly remember a Steve Waugh slog sweep ending up in the stands though (he later became my favourite player of all time). The next day I was out with dad and he started explaining it to me, and the next year I was playing under 11s. Cricket 2002 also helped win me over, on PC of course, then I fell in love with the 2003 World Cup (I bought the highlights tape soon after so I remember a hell of a lot of things that happened in that World Cup).

World Cup 1992.

Really?

I got into it from...well pretty much since I was born. Family are big Pakistan and cricket fans, they've been watching it from god knows when. Earliest memories I have of it are playing with my yellow plastic bat and ball heh heh heh.

Yeah that 218 by Manjrekar mentioned there is my oldest memory of match on TV.
