Don't think so. Medicine is more a biological discipline so i would imagine Mathematics wouldn't be very complicated. But yeah Maths can branch into almost any discipline. If you have to choose a second major i reckon maths is the ticket.
I can't remember who asked but someone asked "is there any career that pays wells thats just maths". Well you might like actuarial science. For those who don't know it its basically a highly specialised field to do with insurance. Great shortage and high in demand. Pays very well. Its quite tough though. You have to love maths and requires a lot of committment. I'm doing it as an undergraduate. So far i'm in my 2nd year and i have to say it requires a lot of statistics, financial mathematics and mortality mathematics. A lot of it is computer work too. So yeah high paying job ($200,000 per year is the average in Australia) but stuck in an office. Hence why my other co-degree is psychology. If i'm good enough i can become a psychologist and research into behavioural finance psychology which requires a hell of a lot of maths. Enough of my life story.
