Smith: Welcome to Rushden, William, how are you finding it?

Ako: It's a dump but we've all got to start somewhere, eh?

Smith: Right...er, well, I'm from the Rushden Daily News and we thought the fans would like to know more about you.

Ako: Course.

Smith: Right, why did you take this job?

Ako: Well, I was hardly gonna get the Arsenal job, was I?

Smith: Ok, um, what will you bring to Rushden?

Ako: Class. And a football brain. I've played football all my life. I was even in Fulham's Academy until my career was cruelly cut short by when I burnt my finger.

Smith: Sorry, how does a burnt finger end you career?

Ako: Well, I was released the following day so it was obviosuly that. I was talented. The next Pele they called me.

Smith: So-

Ako: Sorry, I'm gonna have to cut this interview short. Stuff to do. You don't mind, do you?

Smith: Well-

Ako: No, course you don't.

Smith: Um...well, thanks for your time. This will be in our paper tomorrow. The fans will be delighted to read. Do you read our paper?

Ako: Nope, better things to do. Ta-ra!

Haha.. top start. The interview was pretty good.. so was the ad. Wait - that's not the point of this, is it. :spy

Oh well, keep it up Will.. really nice start to the story. Good luck at Rushden & Diamonds. :clap

How drunk/tired were you when you started this?

Er...ignore the date on the first Newspaper issue.

:p

I will read this more for ads than the game news.

Greetings, Rushdenites.

I've been told by them upstairs I had to do the occassional update regarding the club's situation or something like that? Anyway, I thought I'd just clue you up as to my plans and ambitions for this club.

Vision

Seeing as I was a great prospect before my career was cut cruelly short, I know football. I was called the next Frank Lamprd. That was before he was even playing so I would have been the first Frank Lampard and everyone knows the original is always best. Anyway, my time as a top-level amateur footballer taught me a great deal. It taught me that, if you're far and away, the best on your team, you should take responsibility.

A great man once said, 'Football's a beautiful game and it should be played beautifully.' That man was Brian Clough whose career was ended prematurely. However, he went on to become one of the greatest English managers of all times. I'm not saying I will be but you can see the parallels. My philosophy is exactly this. Play beautiful, attacking football.

Tactics

I'll be using a 4-3-1-1 formation so there is greater interaction between players in the second and final thirds. Link-up play, passing and moving. Those are the ways of a great team.

Expectation

I expect to get into the Football League at the first attempt. Simple as. I didn't come here to be mid-table fodder. I have bigger ambitions than that. With me at the helm, I can see this team moving onwards and upwards.

Your manager,

William Ako
