India go in as underdogs, and that's when they are the most dangerous. I hope they live up to that reputation of "performing best when not many tip them to".
I can't believe people are saying this. I understand no Yuvi, sehwag or Gambhir. But Raina is in great touch. Rohit Sharma is oozing with confidence, Dhawan showed class. Kohli is always good (mr reliable). If the bowling holds together properly, it is India's tournament all the way. Plus India have so much more match practise recently.
In the case of Pakistan, Nasir Jamshed is seriously struggling for form. Imran farhat is so bad, I would play 10 men in the line-up. Hafeez seems ok, and his spin might be useful in English conditions. Misbah is OK, and if can adapt properly to the situation he can be an asset for the team. Malik is fairly reliable but is playing too low down the order to make any decent contribution to the score in anyway. Asad Shafiq, is a test player. He is not designed for ODI in any way. He has a strike rate of 70 odd usually, and unlike when playing against Ireland he wouldn't be able to speed up against quality bowling. Kamran Akmal, he can have his day. Hope he can catch the ball this time. Wahab Raiz, I mean come on. He is handy with the bat and his bowling is all over the place. with the likes of strong teams his economy would be over 8 comfortably. Junaid Khan seems a composed player, but his death bowl is pretty average. Asad Ali and Ehsan Adil have little to no experience and can barely take on quality batting. Saeed Ajmal seems rusty, hope he comes back to his usual self. Not to mention none of them have played any internatioanl cricket in the last 2-3 months. Without the likes of Younis Khan, Shahid Afridi. Pakistan may aswell not play the tournament.
Saying all that, I have obliged to support them and hope for the best.
They should come and play it here in Norfolk, it's cloudy and cool but at least it's dry!
Suprisingly, it was pretty average day here in Stafford, and we only 45 mins away from Birmingham.
