ICC Champions Trophy 2013 - England & Wales

It had bounce in it, genuinely good quick bowlers will get a lot out of it. There were just none playing in that match, because Malinga didn't bowl and everyone else was medium pace.

South Africa is looking horrible right now or maybe Pakistan is too good for them?

Suprised about South Africa because they tore it up (Tests not ODI) when they came here last year; Steyn and Morkel loved our conditions.

Must be kidding me right. India are by far one of the favourites this tournament. Bhuv and Praveen Kumar utilase the swinging conditions. Ashwin and Jadeja for the spin. Very Very deep batting to carry them home, with an exceptional inform Kohli,Raina,Dhoni.

Pakistan are so inexperienced and with no more big names (e.g. Afridi,Gul,Younis Khan) Pakistan stand no chance. Nasir Jamshed is in abysmal form, as well as Farhat (useless player), Hafeez is average. Shafiq is a test player and has a strike rate of 70 on a good day. Asad Ali, Ehsan Adil have little to no experience. Junaid Khan is average. Malim is too far down the order for the benefit of the team. Saeed Ajmal seemed off in the Ireland and Scotland series. Misbah is too old, and thinks he is some sort of hero, when he really isn't.

Okay first off, Afridi is absolute garbage. I think people need to understand that his "big name" means nothing. Bats worse than Wahab Riaz and hasn't taken a wicket in over 60 overs. Junaid Khan is definitely not average, shows a lot of talent and will definitely be a great bowler for Pakistan for years to come. Asad Ali bowled beautifully against SA, picking up wickets against Peterson and AB De Villiers in successive overs as well as getting out McLaren while he was set.

Malik is garbage, hasn't scored a 50 in 4 years and shouldn't be on the squad. Ajmal even though not in form is still the best spinner in the world in my opinion and I wouldn't worry about him, he should step up when we need it. Asad Shafiq comes up big when we need it. The question I'm asking is where in the world is Umar Akmal he should definitely be on the squad. He's definitely one of the most successful, talented batsmen in Pakistan today as well as being one of our best fielders without a doubt. Hafeez and Jamshed really need to do well especially Jamshed I think if he can really play like he did last year Pakistan will have a chance to do some damage for sure. Hafeez has the game in my opinion just things never fully work out, he usually gets himself out trying to do something far too excessive.

Wow, you guys really don't like one another do you?

Same story as first warm-up. Top order collapse and two batsmen coming to rescue again. Very poor shot selection by all the batsmen. Murli Vijay was unlucky today but wasn't looking comfortable out there, Dhawan spent some time at the crease but couldn't make a decent score. Kohli looked good but poor shot selection, Rohit was living dangerously and he is finding new ways to get out. Raina made a total mess. DK was superb again and I think he has outplayed Rohit/Vijay in the final 11. Dhoni played very well in the end. So Kohli, DK and Dhoni are looking good right now but others need to contribute if India wants to do good in the tournament. Now let's see how our bowlers do on this surface.

Both Umesh and Bhuvi are looking good so far. Will Shane Watson bat today?

Well too much left to do in the last, worrying sign in the top-order, but I think it is a matter of time. The vacant spot will be filled by DK, and the openers too retain their spot. But definitely Vijay needs to get things right.

Sunny days these, but still Umesh does what he is meant to, even if he gives away runs, he's someone who'll pick wickets for sure here in England.

Hopefully overhead conditions change such that they favour bowlers as we progress further, but yeah!! we want full games.

Mr. MadhavanGovind, where are you? Look at your Aussies batting, playing like Kenya team :p

We must say from 55/5 to 308/6 was remarkable comeback by India. Back to back Century by DK, he is in best form of his life. Hope he plays consistently throughout the tournament. Rohit or Vijay must sit for the game against SAF. MSD as always superb in shots and temerament. :cheers

HATS OFF to UMESH YADAV :clap:clap:clap

Well that was an embarrassing performance from Australia. Brilliant win for India. Fast bowlers were looking good, I just wanted to see more of Ashwin. Hope he does good in actual tournament.

First of all, Afridi was never good. His name is what keeps him going. Umar Akmal is garbage. Thinks of himself as being amazing. Junaid Khan is good, but experience is not there to bowl at death. Asad Shafiq is NOT A ODI PLAYER, and never will be. Yes he is good, but you can't play that slow in ODI's. Asad Ali bowled well, but haven't really seen much of him. Ehsan Adil is a waste, with no pace. Shoaib Malik can't score a half-century, because he comes as a finisher when the team needs 40-50 runs. Never gets time to build an innings. PLus he is the best feilder Pakistan have. Saeed Ajmal is good, but age is catching up. Umar Amin is another useless player.

Once again, I sttod by what I said, India are a strong team and are by far My favourites for the tournament (coming from a Pakistani descent)

Whoaa.... Crushing defeat! But hope it does not put India in an unnecessary overconfident mode. Still our batting was lucky to survive and credit must go to Dinesh Karthik and Dhoni. Especially Karthik is outstanding. :clap As Dhoni said, the guy has earned his spot in the XI this tournament. Either Rohit or Vijay need to go. I think they will play Rohit and keep Vijay out since Dhoni wants Karthik to bat in the top order. Opening with Karthik and Dhawan would be a better choice. Also Karthik is a brilliant fielder (still remember his catch to dismiss Graeme Smith in that T20 World Cup in 2007).

Brilliant effort from the bowlers, especially Umesh. Good to see Ishant among the wickets. So Bhuvi, Ishant and Umesh are the starting attack for sure. With Ashwin and Jadeja, the bowling attack is fixed.

I agree with many of the things you just said in this post except for Umar Akmal, he's young so he will learn by experience however he was still our best bat during the World Cup and he's never given a chance to bat higher up the order which would be a better position for him because he's not put into positions where the game relies on him single handily winning because of Pakistan collapses. I do think Malik is terrible however good fielder but that's all and based on how many chances he's been given coming down the order is not an excuse for not getting a 50 in 4 years lol

Spectacular win for India. Loved the way our bowlers bowled, especially Yadav, and that they were amongst the wickets too for a change. DK was at his best, once again. It needs a solid temperament to get your team back on track after being 55/5. Dhoni was as good as ever. With that huge margin victory, couldn't ask for more out of the men in blue.
