This is what I`m saying. Bumrah`s utility is in the slog overs when the batsmen are trying to attack him. By bowling him with the new ball, we not only wasting the new ball overs but also doing a disservice to our death bowling. If we had an Umesh or a Shami who are admittedly not great death bowlers, we could use them between overs 1-40 and have more overs of Bumrah for the death. This Pandya experiment is throwing the whole chain of plans awry.

I think H Pandya as a batsman alone plays ahead of Jadhav for me! He is the only power hitter we have. Jadhav out for Shami in my opinion. Pandya is simply your 6th bowler who can give you 3-4 overs if needed.

Our bowling resources have the required raw material. If only, we pick the right attack. I have nothing against that guy but Pandya is a luxury for this side. Batting at No.7 and being unsure of bowling 10 overs is not something we can afford to carry. If we were playing on slow tracks in India, I would still be okay with this idea but not on these tracks.

I agree with you. I think we need to show some faith in him. He's good enough to bat 6 with Jadeja 7. I also think if we are in a situation like 100-4 we can use Ashwin at 6 and hold Pandya back! The moment Hardik goes out, Dhoni will become the chief finisher and once again have to bat with all that pressure. I think Jadhav is a poor fielder, Hardik a brilliant one and he has all the tools to be our finisher in the long run. Jadhav is casual, lazy and just doesn't give me the feeling he can go big as Dhoni in the past and Pandya now.

Jadhav was brilliant against England, and he hasn't gpt chances in this tournament. He did play a good knock vs SL at the end. I think you're being a little unfair to him.
