ICC Champions Trophy 2017

Congratulations to India. Now its India's final to lose, since this Pakistan team is too young to show the calmness required in the final but if we win, it will be something very special. I am still very happy the way Sarfraz and young players learned with each new game in this tournament, it has already given immense confidence to Sarfraz as a captain hence I guess Pakistan has achieved what they wanted from this tournament.

Yes. You guys have finally found your captain. If you guys can find a few more guys like Zaman and Babar and phase out the sluggish Azhar Ali and Hafeez, Pakistan cricket should get really strong as before.

Villain thinks this is not likely to happen :noway
Satan says blue gonna be like this come Sunday:

The British yall daddy then and now.
Nope, India was independent before Britishers came and ruled. India was always ruled by Moghuls and Marathas but was India. So actually British was our bad kinky uncle who tried to molest us but we eventually threw it away.

They left willingly.

There are lots of players and we will surely improve further. We were stuck in our mediocre era and there were many reasons for that, but somehow again we have started to find the old mercurial Pakistani talent and I can name many who are under 25 and playing exceptionally well in domestic circuit. Only issue now for me is due to way too much T20 cricket we haven't been able to find someone who can bowl above 95 miles/hr consistently, hopefully we'll find that talent too in next couple of PSL too.

We should also give credit to Inzamam. If I remember correctly, coach and management wanted the same old players and he said something like it will be their last chance after that I'll do what I want. I know Pakistan squad still had Wahab Riaz and Umer Akmal in the squad before the start of CT17. I'm 100% sure that these players like Wahab, Umer, Hafeez and Azhar were not only choices of Inzamam. Though injuries helped Pakistan to atleast replace two useless players. in the tournament. Which turned out to be a good thing. But still atleast Inzamam selected right players also and amazingly sent great replacements.

I think the team is gelling well now and things are starting to get back to the right track. After this tournament we need to select further more genuine domestic performers (Young Players) not like Shehzad, Kamran etc... Also its time to say bye bye to all parchi players and we should aim for CWC19.

Hasan Ali : nobody knew him before PSL I. Performed well there, went to the 'A' tour to England, and was selected for the ODIs
Fakhar Zaman : great domestic performer who went unnoticed. PSL II gave him a chance to play on a bigger stage. Selected straight after the league.
Shadab Khan : after shining in the U19 team and a couple of 'A' tours, PSL II gave him the opportunity to introduce himself to a larger audience, and boy, did he take it

PSL has been great for our cricket so far, apart from the fixing scandal, but we only lost Sharjeel due to that, and his replacement is already there (as PPP would say "Aik Sharjeel ko maro gay, har ghar say Sharjeel niklay ga"). Hopefully guys like Hasan Mohsin, Umair Masood and Ghulam Mudassar will shine next year. Mohammad Asghar is another guy who came into the national team thanks to PSL, although he has been on the bench so far, and Rumman Raees too.

Similarly the IPL has been great for India, simultaneously bad for the teams like WI,AUS,SL and NZ.

Pakistan has always had the players! It's about consistent selection, merit selection.

On to Sunday, if there is one team that you can't and don't want to play a final against, it's Pakistan. I'll just say this- If their bowlers decide to turn up, India don't have a prayer. If they don't bring their A game, India will eat them alive.

Either way, If India can't win, I'm more than happy to see Pak win. Their fans are the same people just wearing a different colour clothing.

Even if their bowlers turn up, we have the batsmen to fight it out. Also we have the bowlers who can take advantage of Pakistan's brittle batting lineup (yes they have looked good since that game against us; but they still have Azam who is inconsistent and Azhar Ali/Hafeez who if tied down, can really put pressure on themselves and their team). If only we remove Pandya and have Shami, we should have "ideally" the best attack to successfully defend the Champions Trophy on Sunday.

We would be constantly among the top five nations if these two things were there, along with more professionalism in fielding and fitness. The talent will always be there, no matter the ranking.
