Can we keep the discussions to CT 2017 in a thread about CT 2017 and not venture into other areas please?
 
I believe CT must continue in 2021 as well. Apparently ICC is thinking to sacrifice this tremendous tournament for the sake of World T20s. CT has proved that ODI still has lot of life in it. I feel that two 50 overs cups are good for the fans and cricket lovers, While T20 is more commercialism than actual Sport. ICC should understand and differentiate between the two audiences. When you exceed teams and make a lot number of associates as part of World Cup, The matches became boring. Tough competitions always held between fewer top teams. You can't really judge a bowler or batsman from T20. One day and Test Cricket are the benchmarks.

The retired legends playing in US promoting Cricket was a failed attempt I believe. If you really want to promote it globally, Go with current mix of players, Make two World XI from the current generation of Players and organize matches in US or other places where you see Cricket potential. The retired legends can become the ambassador to that championship

Some have lost senses digesting a win after a decade or so. Not sure why does the thread exist after the tournament is over?

Anyway, congrats on the win Pakistan. Completely outplayed us in the last match.
