ICC Champions Trophy 2017

Well that didn't go according to the plan. Very disappointing result for the team after performing so well throughout the tournament. However, this team is very professional and I know for sure that it will definitely be one of the better Indian ODI teams. Bumrah has this habit of pushing the front line and he has bowled a lot of no balls like this in past in international cricket as well as IPL. Ricky Ponting mentioned the same thing on the commentary of this habit of him. However, he is only 23 and mistakes do happen. I hope he becomes a better bowler from experiences like this.

Even though Ashwin and Jadeja have been the backbone of the team for a while now, we definitely need a wrist spinner for middle overs in ODI's. I saw Ashwin bowl yesterday and he looked very flat during those middle overs. This is very weird since he was brought into the team as a limited overs specialist bowler. He has become much better test bowler but his ODI performances haven't been that great recently. He does bowl very defensively nowadays. This doesn't work well because Jadeja at the other end is also a defensive bowler. I can't complain about him if we are using him as 5th bowler but right now Jadeja is playing the role of 4th bowler which is not ideal. Jadeja is probably the best fielder right now in the world and is a more than decent bowler if he plays the role of 5th bowler because he can be handy with bat but playing him as the 4th bowler will be tricky from now on. I like the inclusion of Kuldeep Yadav in the squad for WI series rather than going back to Amit Mishra. Kuldeep has been on the radar for a while now and I hope he gets decent opportunities in Caribbean. This is because he is an aggressive bowler, plus a wrist spinner plus offers variety to the bowling attack with his left arm chinamen stuff which is very rare in cricket nowadays. He can be a genuine wicket taking option in the middle overs.

For the fast bowling department, I think we have a decent group of fast bowlers right now. However, I don't know where did Barinder Sran disappear. He was very decent in Australia and looked pretty good to me whenever he was given a chance in Zimbabwe. Another tall young fast bowler who offers a bit of variety to this bowling attack with his left arm bowling. I am really hoping selectors give him another chance soon.

I know I have said this for a while now but I don't think Yuvraj should be there in the team now. I want to see someone like Manish Pandey given a consistent chances now before the WC. I also like the inclusion of Rishabh Pant. Probably an ideal replacement of Yuvraj. Again, he is very young and very raw but it is the right time to bring him in the squad and groom him.

These are the players who I want to see given consistent chances before the next WC.

KL Rahul/Shikhar Dhawan
Rohit Sharma
Virat Kohli
Manish Pandey/Rishabh Pant
MS Dhoni
Kedar Jadhav
Hardik Pandya
Kuldeep Yadav
Bhuvi
Bumrah/Jadeja
Shami/Umesh

Reserves: KL Rahul/Shikhar Dhawan, Manish Pandey/Dinesh Karthik, Shami/Umesh, Bumrah/Jadeja, Ashwin, Barinder Sran, Dinesh Karthik

Epic.

Translation: Shami shouldn't have been angry; that poor Pakistani fan has so many fathers that he is asking everyone who is his father. So lets help find him his father.

And its the Indian cricketers who had to face the wrath of some fanatics fans ,former cricketers and actor. Mohammed Shami lost his cool.

Can I get a proper translation on this with adequate context in regards to the words used?
And Shami lost his dad recently. And Pakistan fans were saying "who is your father" ( Not in that context though). Maybe that added more fuel to him.
So what context is that being said in then? Because as a non-Hindi/Urdu speaker my take away is - Pakistan's your daddy now.

Exactly.
You misunderstood my sentence. I said they didn't tell that to Shami's father. Not in that context.

Well played Pakistan, well deserved! We were outplayed in every department. From whatever I saw, our players just didn't seem up for the challenge. Their body language was negative right from the start. And all that cost us. I hate Ashwin the ODI player, he is tbh. Such a negative approach where he doesn't want to get hit and save runs. But that doesn't happen. I would have been happy if we won for sure but Pak win has put a smile on my face as they played passionately. The opener in Zaman was a treat to watch.

Guys can you please put/continue this discussion in the Indian Cricket discussion thread?

We must give credit here to the chief selector Inzamam Ul Haq for believing in youth and given due chances to the deserving ones virtually. He must carry on this thing. These young guys are our future and we can be a very serious contender to 2019 World Cup.

There have been some talks by ex cricketers saying Pakistan is best on the day, on the day, I dont agree with that. It can be true for some instances but not when you defeat 3 best of the best teams in straight go. This is more when your team clicks at the right time.

Champions Trophy: Mohammad Amir wanted to make up for his wrong doing: Brother - Times of India

Really happy for Mohammed Amir after what he and his family has went through in the last 5 years after the spot fixing saga. There was a lot of talk whether he should be allowed to play or not after the ban was lifted. Also the last year and a half after his comeback this is the best he has bowled i reckon maybe the Asia cup game against India comes closest.
Not many people have second chances in life but when life gives you a second chance use it like Mohammed Aamir.
