ICC Champions Trophy 2017

I think Chris Lynn would walk into any limited overs side on any solar system in the universe. If Australia and he himself take care of that body, I see a once in a generation limited overs batsman. He needs to just refine his batting a little bit which will come with experience. I just am in awe of him. Anyone who can make Maxwell, Ab etc. look like a bit of a slow coach is a freak of freaks. How MH and TH play ahead of him is beyond me. I think AF at the top is a very over rated bloke.

I think John Hastings is the sort of bloke you want in the side. He gives it his all. I think Hazlewood made merry and got some cheap wickets like he often does.

As an India supporter, if I see the openers as I just mentioned, I'd be shitting bricks. I don't know what the bowlers have to endure. Also what it does is that it gives Warner and Smith time as well as freedom. IMHO, Australia's bowling lacks a bit of variety as well which is why I've gone for the wrist spinning Zampa. I don't think Henriques offers much with the ball but at least he gives me the option of 2-3 overs where as Finch doesn't. Australia's problem is the lack of a genuine allrounder. Their all rounders are more batsman who can bowl. In limited overs, you need people who can bat a bit and go big but give you 8 overs when needed.

The issue with Lynn is that nobody in Australia has considered him an opener before the IPL, so it is difficult to fit him at the top. Finch is a player who'll always be there for the team, an absolute warrior. Henriques is a pretty competent batsman who'll offer a decent couple of overs. But it is tough to see what Hastings offers - he bowls 10 overs, isn't particularly economical, takes wickets sometimes but not often and isn't great with the bat. He's a great person to have around the squad but not sure if he's upto the level required to start consistently. It is a very difficult choice between Head/Henriques and Lynn for the number 5 spot, one has to feel for Smith and Boof. There's no way they can satisfy everyone with the decision they take.

I might be a bit biased but this SA team is close to being the most complete ODI team ever.

Certainly a great side. Cant see much weakness througout that lineup. Rabada though is a legend in the making, once his body holds up, need to manage him properly.

Sri Lanka have made a wonderful start here to the 300 chase. If they beat South Africa, I would call this an 'upset', even though Sri Lanka is a top 8 side.

I personally rate Aaron Finch a better and more solid hitter than Lynn. Lynn looks freak'ish right now post IPL, but it could be 'his time right now' for all we know. Finch has done this over a much longer time and the effortless way with which he moves across gears is great! My personal preference - Finch >> Lynn.

Well, Sri Lanka at some point had to give in. They held out admirably for long enough, but they don't seem to have the ammunition to hold out more.

South Africa are too good to lose to Sri Lanka, although Tharanga and Dickwella provided a great start.

Less than 24hrs before India takes on Pakistan, ICC Champs 2017.

India have a powerful team and Pakistan are certainly with one of their weakest teams ever in a champs Trophy.

This is more than a game though and I expect to see an excellent fight from all 21 players, nothing is worth fighting for more than freedom of choice and independence for your beliefs.

A win here will do more for the Pakistani children living in fear and the elderly who have lost all will to continue fighting. A win for India will see a bump in their pride, patriotism and fighting spirit.

As such I am supporting Pakistan to defy the odds and come out winners tomorrow, whatever the result is I am sure every cricket fan, despite their political ties, are happy and feel honoured to be a part of a game where patriotism is worth more than anything, more than winning and more than losing.

Best of luck to both teams.

Stereotyping much?

I love how everyone is literally writing PAK off. Dangerous! Dangerous! They're MOST dangerous when they're pressure less.

My prediction? India will win the toss and bowl because of the rain threat. Pakistan will put up a spirited 305 on the board.

Then, India will make a decent start of 75-1 in 15. Then, VK will get out and India will get skittled for 160 odd for a remarkable PAK win!

Pakistan are going to get smashed. Wahab will go for at least 100.
