ICC Champions Trophy 2017

Test: Steve Smith
ODI: Amla/Kohli
T20: Too hard to say

However there's 3-4 batsmen you could put at the top and you wouldn't be wrong to do so.

Yea, I meant in the ODI side. I don't know much about the comparison in test cricket so won't comment. Smith definitely among the top 3 batsmen. I'd say Kohli is best batsman according to my opinion in ODI and T20's. I don't think there is any comparison of Amla and Kohli, Amla though a very very good batsman but Kohli's class is different. He has single handedly win matches for his team tonnes of time now and his consistency is remarkable. He is a benchmark batsman for the younger players to follow I feel. I rate those players higher who give match winning performances and cruise the team from crisis, That is why I used to rate Inzamam and Ponting very higher before in that top league.

Smith on the other hand deserves a huge amount of credit because he made himself to this top level due to his sheer hardwork and dedication. I remember, He was inducted as a bowling all-rounder to side and used to bat No. 7, and now he is standing among the Top 3 batsmen in the World. A huge applause indeed for his efforts and what he is doing for his team.[DOUBLEPOST=1497300606][/DOUBLEPOST]
England, and that'll be it.

We will see, Never say never :)

As for India-Bangladesh, India need to be anxious. Bangladesh faced us in the QF in 2015 WC and played competitive cricket. On a good batting surface, they can definitely take advantage of our bowling attack which is good but can wilt on a flat surface (as we showed against Sri Lanka). I am going to call this game a lottery. Anybody's game, which is a compliment and advantage for Bangladesh. I won't be surprised if Bangladesh reach the final. But my heart says an India-England final again, a repeat of 2013.

You are that afraid of Bangladesh? I was expecting you guys are rejoicing that Bangla is in the Semis.

I think Bangladesh are almost a top 5 team in ODI cricket. Them or NZ. I rate them highly and they're very very dangerous. What I love about them?

Raw Passion!!

If they beat India, they'll deserve their final birth. Although so far I stand by my earlier statement that they're lucky to be here. Should have been Oz.

We are wary of the fact that Bangladesh has played well in this tournament, and is a good team. 'Afraid' doesn't describe it. Just as Pakistan had to work hard for that victory today, India will also work hard to beat Bangladesh.

Wow! only Pakistan can make such a mess of an easy chase against a not so good bowling side. It was a competition between two teams where both were trying their best to loose the match and in the end SriLanka did the best.
Anyways we have finally crawled into the semifinals, only to be smashed by England. Sarfraz as a captain is making way too many mistakes along with atleast couple of dummy batsmen, we are in for another one sided match like it was the case in India vs Pakistan.

I think the correct word is "watchful". Normally I wold have been gung-ho about it. But seeing how we fared against SL, I really cannot rule out Bangladesh rising to the occasion if we bat first again.

Rahul needs to be made a permanent part of the lineup in ODI and T20.
He should be permanent even in the tests. Or did you mean Rahul is already permanent in tests hence you didn't say ?

Hmm, I think Just like you guys feel that Pakistan would be eaten up by England, I certainly feel that Bangla would be eaten by India. I think the loss against SL is quite unexpected for you guys, but we should remember that there is an off day in cricket for everyone. There is no match whatsoever between the two sides. If India looses to Bangladesh in Semis on 15th? It would be a shame in my opinion.

But S.Dhawan with this tournament performance has booked his place in the squad for almost eternity.

Your point then? If India loses, of course it's a shame because we could've gone forward most certainly. It's just how it goes for other losses.

Only he is, I'm pretty confident of us winning but that doesn't mean I'm already ruling out Bangladesh just yet.

Hopefully he does not only score in ICC tournaments. I agree, he is perfect for that third opener slot in the ODI side and maybe the Test side. T20 I'm not too sure about because he generally isn't great in T20Is even though he did great in the IPL. I think he certainly derserves to come back to the test squad for sure. But of course KL is first-choice opener.

I agree with Sai. Bangladesh have nothing to lose. They were ecstatic at having qualified for the CT and you could see that from their pre-tournament talk. Reaching the semis for the first time in a world event is already a huge success for them. India, on the other hand have the weight of expectations. If we lose to Bangladesh, the tournament would not be labeled a success for us. Bangladesh will come out and play freely and that could be really dangerous for us.

We need an extra frontline seamer against Bangladesh. If that means dropping either Ashwin or Jadeja to fit in Shami/Umesh, so be it. Remember, Bangladesh struggled against Yadav and Bhuvi in the warmups.

England are the team that Pakistan can exploit the most. While India and Bangladesh generally play with an element of control which is Pakistan's weakness, England's attacking style will completely suit Pakistan's unpredictability.

How can you say that it'd go like other losses. It would be a huge upset as there is no competition between the two sides and Bangladesh isn't among the top 5 sides at the moment. It is a below par side still with shades of hardwork and eagerness to do something, not more than that. Bangladesh is still far behind the top international level despite they have beaten Newzeland in CT. Its a C grade team still, just don't judge by Rankings only. India should win this match very cleanly.
