Rohan Gavaskar will replace the Bombay Blaster in the squad. India?s cricket selectors on Monday picked a full-strength team for the Champions Trophy after reaching an agreement with top players over sponsorship contracts.

Captain Sourav Ganguly will lead the 14-man squad for the limited-overs tournament starting in the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo on Thursday, officials said. ?The problem has been sorted out with the players and the International Cricket Council (ICC). We will go to Colombo with our best team,? Indian cricket chief Jagmohan Dalmiya told reporters. The decision was arrived after a day of hectic consultations between the ICC and Dalmiya, which culminated with a tele-conference with officials of the other 11 participating nations. The Indian players had initially refused to sign sponsorship contracts that prevented them from endorsing products which conflicted with the official sponsors for 30 days after the event. The ICC, however, agreed the contracts will be valid only for 16 days after the tournament ends on September 29.

Despite recent poor performances, India are one of the main competitors for the trophy

The Board of Control for Cricket in India okayed the pact when the ICC said any ?claims made by official sponsors will be borne by the ICC?, Dalmiya said.

No. Since this tournament is taking place is September 2004, and I am using the same squads as was used in the actual tournament. India were without Sachin at that time.

England have recalled Worcestershire spinner Gareth Batty and all-rounder Kabir Ali for their 14-man squad for the International Cricket Council's Champions Trophy limited-overs tournament in England in September.
Michael Vaughan captains a team for the one-day tournament which is in effect a mini World Cup that also includes Worcestershire batsman Vikram Solanki.

Solanki, Kabir Ali and Gareth Batty

"We identified a need for more depth in our batting and an increase in mobility in our fielding," David Graveney, chairman of selectors, said Friday.
"So we have recalled Vikram Solanki because he gives us options at the top of the order and is an outstanding fielder. He has been in fine form for his county in both forms of the game.

"Gareth Batty and Kabir Ali have also been in good form for Worcestershire and they give us options down the order.

"We are playing at the back end of the season and we may find ourselves on used wickets, so Batty gives us an extra spinning option. Kabir has been included as the bowler-batsman all-rounder," Graveney told www.ecb.co.uk.

The same 14-man squad will play three one-day internationals against India in the first week of September ahead of the the ICC Champions Trophy, which starts in England on September 10.

England: Michael Vaughan (captain), Kabir Ali, James Anderson, Gareth Batty, Paul Collingwood, Andrew Flintoff, Ashley Giles, Darren Gough, Stephen Harmison, Geraint Jones (wicket-keeper), Anthony McGrath, Vikram Solanki, Andrew Strauss, Marcus Trescothick

The minnows have named their squads for this year's ICC Champions Trophy in England

Tournament outsiders the USA have named their party for the ICC Champions Trophy in England this September.

They will be captained by Richard Staple and include former West Indies opener Clayton Lambert.

Four players in the squad represent New York and there are also four from Florida, while coaching comes from two former West Indian internationals. Faoud Bacchus and Kenneth Benjamin will have the onerous task of trying to beat New Zealand and Australia.

USA squad: Richard Staple (capt.), Nasir Javed (vice-capt.), Charles Reid, Zamin Amin, Howard Johnson, Aijaz Ali, Mark Johnson, Leon Romero, Naseer Islam, Rohan Alexander, Rashid Zia, Steve Massiah, Clayton Lambert, Imran Awan.

Zimbabwe have named an inexperienced 14-man squad for next month's Champions Trophy as the country's player crisis enters a sixth month.

Great responsibility has been placed on 21-year-old Taibu's shoulders

With the 15 'rebel' players still at loggerheads with the cricket board, Zimbabwe settled on a squad with an average age of under 21.

Tatenda Taibu, who took over after the pivotal sacking of Heath Streak in April, retains the captaincy.

Dion Ebrahim, with 69 one-dayers, is the most experienced of the 14 men.

Max Ebrahim will travel with the team as selector for the tournament.

A central character in the row, Max Ebrahim took over as chief selector after the board's annual general meeting last week, where each member was unanimously re-elected.

The 15 players who were sacked after protesting over biased selection policy have agreed to independent arbitration, while this week the ICC launched a probe into allegations of racism in Zimbabwean cricket.

After the Champions Trophy, Zimbabwe will travel to Pakistan for a one-day triangular series against Pakistan and Sri Lanka, before hosting England for a limited-overs series in November.

In June, the International Cricket Council scrapped Zimbabwe's Test schedule for the remainder of the year.

Zimbabwe squad: Brendan Taylor (Age 18), Vusimuzi Sibanda (20), Mark Vermeulen (25), Tatenda Taibu (21, capt), Dion Ebrahim (24), Stuart Matsikenyeri (21), Alester Maregwede (23), Mluleki Nkala (23), Elton Chigumbura (18), Tawanda Mupariwa (19), Edward Rainsford (19), Prosper Utseya (19), Tinashe Panyangara (18), Douglas Hondo (25).

Bangladesh have made three changes to their Asia Cup squad for September's ICC Champions Trophy in England.

Nafis Iqbal has been marked down as a player for the future

Opener Nafis Iqbal is recalled and two uncapped players - batsman Aftab Ahmed and paceman Nazmul Hossain - have been given their first chance.

Chief selector Faruq Ahmed said: "It is about getting the right combination."

All-rounder Alok Kapali and batsman Faisal Hossain have been dropped. Slow left-armer Abdur Razzaq is under observation for a suspect action.

He was reported during the Asia Cup tournament in Sri Lanka, held in July.

Iqbal, a former under-19 captain, played in two limited-over matches against England during their Bangladesh tour last November.

He scored a century for Bangladesh A against Michael Vaughan's men during the same series.

Aftab was named in a Test squad to play England but failed to make the starting line-up.

As expected, Habibul Bashar is retained as captain of the 14-member squad.

The players will leave for England on 26 August, and may play some practice matches against Scotland and Ireland.

Bangladesh ended a five-year losing streak in one-day matches when they beat Zimbabwe in Harare in March.

In the Asia Cup, they easily managed to beat minnows Hong Kong, but dismally lost their matches against India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Full squad: Habibul Bashar (captain), Khaled Mashud (wicket-keeper), Rajin Saleh, Javed Omar, Mohammad Ashraful, Mushfiqur Rahman, Khaled Mahmud, Mohammad Rafique, Manjurul Islam Rana, Tapash Baisya, Tareq Aziz Khan, Nafis Iqbal, Aftab Ahmed, Nazmul Hossain.
