Whenever this team is in trouble or has been in trouble in the past two years, it's Bumrah who's come to the fore. He's a bigger match winner than Kohli and this is not a dig against Kohli as I'm his fan but the stardom Kohli has in comparison to Bumrah is something cricket needs to look at in terms of having the balance of power way too much in the batsman's court.

Because they're not stuck in the previous decade like us, still selecting the likes of Imam, who plays run a ball once in a blue moon and can't even accelerate

Well.. thank you! And yes - world cricket right now needs players who can adapt to the situation and strike the ball effortlessly and maintain a very high S/R whenever needed. Pujara does not fit there. His specialty is tests and he is a gem there.

In fact Rahane is a better accelerator than Pujara but even he is considered slow for today's ODI scenario and that's why he was not selected in the India ODI side.

Top performance by Afghanistan. Relief to see India end up winning this. The 49th over was the deciding factor. A 16-run cushion is what any bowler would wish/dream for and Bumrah is my MoM for sure. That and his double stirke in the middle made it possible really.

Nice to see Shami getting a hatrick and even though it were tail enders, getiing them dismissed was also important.

Wake up India, wake up.

Can any Indian fan answer this. Why Pujara has not been considered for Odi Squad ? Or has he before? I saw him playing against Australia. He really looked some good batting material.

Pujara did receive a chance once and failed to capitalize on it. Plus, he is an opener in white ball cricket and at most can bat at 3, not any lower. India’s top 3 has been fairly settled since 2013 and we’ve already got a batsman in Rohit who takes his time to settle at the beginning and even he has his fair share of critics despite being one of the most destructive players once he settles in.[DOUBLEPOST=1561225735][/DOUBLEPOST]
Munro is in bad form, and the next match is against Pakistan. 100 incoming.

Tbh if Munro does score a century versus your lot, y’all need to find an entire new bowling unit plus captain. :p

Bumrah is the best thing to have happened to Indian cricket followed by Virat Kohli's fitness mindset that he has brought into this team. Kids in India FINALLY have a bowling hero to look up to and that is the most satisfying thing for me.

I’ve seen some people criticize Shankar for his batting when he looked like the second most comfortable batsman out there behind only Kohli. He was fairly comfortable rotating the strike and Kohli was quite happy to play with him too. The middle over period with him and Kohli was when we scored around 6 runs per over fairly easily without any sort of risk and he was unlucky to get out in the way he did today due to the awkward length and bounce.

Contrast that with Dhoni, who got himself stuck and could barely rotate the strike frustrating Virat which ended up in him playing a loose shot and getting out. I’ve been guilty of asking for Dhoni at 4 and Shankar down the order but I would back Shankar at 4 on pitches like this where strike rotation is key as it also allows for our best batsman to be comfortable in his approach.[DOUBLEPOST=1561226174][/DOUBLEPOST]

I only wish we had someone like Bumrah a decade ago, might have actually inspired me to progress further in cricket. :p

Nice win by India. This win will boost them more up spirit wise. The challenge Afghan put in will definitely help india ahead.

On Pujara, fair enough if he is a test specialist but Kl Rahul also looking not very impressive with his strike rate.

I didnt talk, about today's match specifically, I talked about overall scenario ahead. Sharma is your main batsman, he is like a backbone. Kl Rahul.. its looking early days for him.[DOUBLEPOST=1561228926][/DOUBLEPOST]

Last 20 minutes of this WI vs NZ game has been absolute chaos. WI has played some really irresponsible cricket in recent while but nothing like these last 20 minutes. Absolute madness from Hetmyer and Gayle. It's like they just wanted to smash every ball out of the park even though they were in a quite comfortable position in the match.

Anyone watching the 2nd game? WI were crusing through until Lockie Ferguson deceived Hetmyer with a slower one and now it looks like WI are collapsing.

And yeah what an amazing atmosphere in the stadium! Sun settling down some English crowd chanting Gayle Gayle and booing Matt Henry and then some response fromthe NZ section in the crowd.

Plus great commentary by Ian Smith and Ian Bishop absolutely loving watching the WI-NZ game.

Wow and just like that West Indies are already 7 down, after that impressive win against Pakistan they just changed.

If Malik or Imam play tomorrow and Asif doesn't i won't bother watching a ball. Start by selecting the team sensibly.

Tell you what, this Sheldon Cottrell would be the first name on my team sheet if I were a captain. If Dre Duss had 10% his attitude, he would be the best all rounder in the world.
