But it has been funny to look around and see some Dhoni fans backing his temperament and body language yesterday, the fans who also shamefully blame Rohit & Kohli for not giving an explosive start in first ten overs.

Tbh I am not a great Dhoni fan and I have always rated Kohli as the best batsman of current generation and Rohit has the 2nd best batsman for India currently. But they just got 28 off 10 overs which is one of the lowest scores for India in the Powerplay 1 since last 5 years. The slow start they got is to be equally blamed. But there was a tactical error being made there. Rohit Sharma takes time at the start and Dhawan does the scoring part in the Powerplay. Kohli being the best batsman in the side had to take up Dhawan's role which he didn't do. And on Rohit's part I don't blame him for the start he got as we all know he starts slowly and there are days when you struggle to score runs at top of the order so there you can't blame Rohit I agree to that. But once Rohit had taken time it was high time for him to deliver and score 140-150 runs or so but he got out a wrong time and the shot he played was one of the worst shots you see from a batsman batting over a 100. In all it was a team failure.[DOUBLEPOST=1562045746][/DOUBLEPOST]
I think this article pretty much summarizes the various questions that arose out of that chase by India against England. End of the day, the better team won. As simple as that

Addresses "intent", waqar, boundary lengths, dhoni-jadhav, rohit-kohli

I was about to come on this

Pretty fair points made by Sambit Bal[DOUBLEPOST=1562045825][/DOUBLEPOST]
I have been the biggest advocate of Rahane in ODIs over the years because the man is brilliant when in form. But unfortunately a team with Rohit, Dhoni, Jadhav and now even Rahul cannot afford a place for Rahane. We need a dashing opener to complement Rohit and not another slow starter.

That's where we have Agarwal to take the pressure off by scoring some quick runs

We should consider bringing in DK for Jadhav. Jadhav has not done much wrong, and it might seem unfair, but if our no.7 is repeatedly going to come with just 4-5 overs left and immense pressure to tee off from ball 1, DK is the right guy for such situations. He can start smashing right away unlike Jadhav who needs a few sighters before he can get going. In fact, Sir Jadeja might also be a better fit for such situations.

And Rahul has to go back to no 4. His painful starts are putting unneeded pressure on Rohit and Kohli, which is the exact opposite of what Dhawan used to do.

And we need to split the spin twins as well. These ground dimensions just wont suit them. Bowling in tandem just wont work, because one of them will have to bowl with that ridiculously short leg side boundary. Also, Bhuvi is fit now

Assuming that Mayank is not available for today's match, we should go with
  1. Pant
  2. Rohit
  3. Kohli
  4. Rahul
  5. Dhoni
  6. Pandya
  7. DK / Jadeja
  8. Bhuvi
  9. Kuldeep
  10. Shami
  11. Bumrah

This article has almost same material which you guys put up here, as a matter of fact you people did much fine job to defend and explain this than the article writer.

Allow me to say that this article is funny. So basically what he tried to say that India did a stratrgic calculation right in the middle of innings and gave up quite early with
five wickets in hand or I should say nine wickets in hand so they calculate NRR and said hey lets loose the game by a little close margin because you never know bangladesh and Sri Lanka might beat us hahaha.

I m sorry but this is funny enough. So India basically was so apprehensive of defeats and england bowlers, slow wicket and shorter boundary (for england only) all factors played up so much that India gave up and saved their NRR. Wow what a logic

He mentioned a glimpse of champions trophy 2009 I knew someone will come up to that level and quote that match. He should go and watch the scorecard and see himself the caliber of Australia in those times and how close that match went, Asif bowling created a huge collapse and match result was decided on the last ball, when umar gul bowled to brett lee and all fielders were in circle just to save that single. So Pakistan showed a lot of intent atleast and went to miles to defeat Australia. That match was in Aussies pocked but due to superb bowling by Pakistani fast bowlers, Ricky Ponting chewed up all his nails in nervousness, Go and check Ponting statement at that time Check history. By going to that logic, we should have defeated Australia so that we could win champions trophy because we have a better record against India in CT Or rather other than World CUP matches.

Regarding World Cups seven times defeats, Its you the media who take such things seriously while Indian player know it very well and fans in general that Pakiatan is the most dangerous team on its day and in the all important WC semi final or final. MS himself said multiple times while responding to media hype that this history will change some day. So dont try to be smart and write long funny articles to prove your illogical points.

Again, I would say that I never said that India lost the match to degarde Pakistan chances. I just answered the funny points raised by this cricket writer :) He wrote one good thing in there that he wish he knew what MS was thinking so better ask this to MS himself straight away

Really unfair to drop Kedar here. On the other hand, delighted for DK. I personally would have not dropped Kuldeep. I would have dropped Chahal. But, that’s a captain’s call. I still don’t like this 4 bowlers and 1 all rounder policy specially minus Kedar. 5 proper bowlers plus the all rounder is my call.

Ouch !! considering it was a "funny" article, you sure seem to have taken it quite seriously

Good toss to win and Fair changes for today's game. Good to see Bhuvi back and DK will provide the firepower lower in the death where Kedhar has struggled. Whats left to be seen is the batting line up now.

Probably the team I would have opted for given Bhuvi’s back and Mayank landed just yesterday. Let’s see if Rahul performs when he’s got real competition for his spot.

5 frontline bowlers and an all rounder seems a tad too excessive.... Pandya still needs to refine his game a bit in order to bat as a number 6. And none of our bowlers barring Bhuvi to an extent can reliably hold a bat right now.

KL Rahul needs to be careful. He is premeditating his shots. A drive almost going into the hands of mid-off. He was dismissed in similar fashion against the Proteas.[DOUBLEPOST=1562060482][/DOUBLEPOST]Rohit vs Mustafizur is pretty much the battle you would like to watch today

Rohit too. He is making a conscious effort to use that short boundary. Too close to the fielder against Fizz

Rohit almost lost his wicket :facepalm[DOUBLEPOST=1562061195][/DOUBLEPOST]Tamim's reaction looked funny after dropping the catch. He was still searching for the ball :D

Some big misses for Bangladesh very early in the innings

Can't really understand the approach from the Indian openers today. Yes they are playing confidently but there are also some blind hits there

Trying to maximize the runs before the wicket slows down

Rahul looks a lot more confident, but still not able to find the gaps though. Striking at SR of 50 - putting pressure on Rohit

I am seeing some very good fielding placements from Bangladesh today. Really they have worked a lot in this tournament.
