Really great batting in the Powerplay today. Have the Indian batsman finally started to realise that they need to start well ? I think if our entire batting line-up plays like this we can go few steps ahead of England. They do have the potential but that haven't been converted into performances yet. Is today the day for India to score big ?

I still think he was extremely nervous at the start and isn’t the ideal partner for Rohit, but he’s made up for lost time in convincing fashion so far.

This is the biggest issue with Rahul that I see. It’s easy to trap him in with a series of dots and strangely he doesn’t seem to constantly rotate strike (while opening) nor score boundaries consistently to release the pressure. To escape from this pressure, he instead tries to go harder at the ball and hits the ball straight at the fielders, which further contributes to this series of dots and he’s forced to take a single eventually. Ultimately, he gets dismissed in a soft way after looking for a quick way to score.[DOUBLEPOST=1562068384][/DOUBLEPOST]

I think it’s extremely unlikely that we’ll see another two hundred plus score for sometime in the near future. The last time Rahane played a odi series for India, he was the MOS. He also recently scored a ton in county cricket and has been playing. The experience of having played the 2015 World Cup can't be disregarded. He's as good as anyone in the field and a very stable bloke to have in the side. I'm a bit mystified by this selection to be honest with you. I would have picked Jinks and even thought it to be a no brainer.

What frustrates me is the lack of vision of the selectors and themanagement have
