Chances for Junaid Khan to be part of PAK?
Amir and Shinwari likely to be preferred. I'd like him, but to be fair, hasn't really been too consistent, so wouldn't be too harsh to drop him.

Only Pakistan can have the luxury of leaving Junaid out. I just don't understand how he keeps getting dropped so randomly? I have a wish of seeing Shenwari bowl to AB when he is in full flight. I think he's a very very bad limited overs bowler. Amir is Amir, but he has not done justice to his talent yet.

Australia World Cup Team Aaron Finch (c), Jason Behrendorff, Alex Carey (wk), Nathan Coulter-Nile, Pat Cummins, Usman Khawaja, Nathan Lyon, Shaun Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Jhye Richardson, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis, David Warner, Adam Zampa

I don't know how I feel about Handscomb being overlooked over Carey, I agree Hazlewood should be rested though, need him for the Ashes. Surprised M Marsh didn't get a call up, also lost his contract for 2019-20. Definitely one of our best ODI players, otherwise it doesn't look too bad, would've liked to see Ashton Turner get a call up aswell, looks to me like the team is lacking finishers, only Maxwell and Stoinis, M Marsh or Turner would've helped in that area a lot

5 pace bowlers in the squad is quite unnecessary, given that only 3 would be playing a game in most situations. Can’t believe that they’ve dropped Handscomb too, he’s been one of Australia’s best batsmen in ODIs recently, can play spin well and can also bat aggressively. I’d have taken him ahead of Behrendorff, giving the bench much needed batting depth. Wonder who gets to keep now if Carey gets a small injury that isn’t serious.

The team lacks finishers too, Stoinis doesn’t bat aggressively unless he’s spent some time in the crease and doesn’t rotate the strike well either. A lot of pressure is on Maxi’s shoulders. Also, where would Khawaja play, now that Warner’s back? And where does Smith slot in? Interesting times ahead for sure.

This can be the XI

Aaron Finch :c::bat:
David Warner :bat:
Steve Smith :bat:
Shaun Marsh :bat:
Glenn Maxwell :ar:
Marcus Stoinis :ar:
Alex Carey :wk:
Pat Cummins :bwl:
Nathan Coulter-Nile :bwl:
Mitchell Starc :bwl:
Adam Zampa :bwl:

I can't believe that Australia have dropped Josh Hazelwood who was their best bowler in CT'17 and was no.1 ODI bowler once. Above that he has been dropped in conditions which suit him the most. I think either of Coulter-Nile or Jhye Richardson should've been kept out. This would hurt Australia now for sure !!!!

Completely agree with this. Starc, Hazelwood and Cummins would have been a deadly trio. They might be right up there with Steyn, Rabada and Ngidi as perhaps the best pace attack in the world, although I'm inclined to pick the South African group with a slight edge.

I would have Khawaja at 3. Brings another batter in who can handle opening conditions if a wicket falls too early, and he's been in prime form since his mini comeback. Here would be my 11:

Aaron Finch :c::bat:
David Warner :bat:
Usman Khawaja :bat:
Steve Smith :bat:
Glenn Maxwell :ar:
Marcus Stoinis :ar:
Alex Carey :wk:
Pat Cummins :bwl:
Mitchell Starc :bwl:
Adam Zampa :bwl:
Jhye Richardson :bwl:

I think that Shaun Marsh should be preferred over Khawaja because Shaun Marsh has a terrific record in England and was probably their best batsman when they visited England last year. And provided that Khawaja isn't that good against the moving ball it could harm the scoring a bit if Shaun Marsh is kept out of the side

I think Hazlewood was dropped for the fact he has not bowled in International cricket since the last test against India at home. So getting him ready for the Ashes is number 1 priority.

I'd have gone with Handscomb over Lyon, as he'd provide a backup keeping option, and one spinner is likely going to be enough, imo.
Also, i feel Fawad Khan deserved a shot ahead of Lyon if they wanted the second spinner.

I feel Lyon and Zampa have developed a nice little partnership together, and i think CA have also felt that. Obviously, i would have liked to have Handscomb in the squad somewhere. Is still have my concerns about Wade, because of the fact he hasn't taken the opportunity any of the times Wade has been given a chance, so i completely understand why the selectors still have their concerns.
