This is the best squad that could have been selected. This selection committee has made some shocking collections but they saved the best for last. Good job! Just give MS the captaincy and that cup is ours!
Don't get too ahead of yourself mate :D

Shaheen in for Usman and Faheem in for Shoaib and then it's perfect.
Also, i feel Amir will be included at the expense of Junaid. Also, i feel Rizwan should go as a backup, but not in the 15.
Rizwan in for Abid cause abid failed the fitness test.

Ambati Rayudu has clearly not taken kindly to the exclusion. I feel for him although I was convinced he shouldn't go. This is what happens when you chop & change so much. Vijay Shankar is more in my squad to act as buffer to Jadhav and Pandya but it seems he will bat 4. I think he has potential for it, but I still believe MS 4 KJ 5 DK 6 and HP 7 is our go to.

I hope the BCCI sends a show cause notice to Ambati Rayudu for his cryptic tweet (of buying 3D glasses to watch World Cup). He is clearly attacking sarcastically on the chief selector MSK Prasad, for that "three dimensional" reference that MSK gave for Vijay Shankar's selection over Rayudu.

If this is not a violation of the spirit of cricket, then what else is? I believe BCCI should suspend Rayudu from IPL till he gives explanation. It'd atleast be normal if he expressed disappointment that he wasn't selected. But sarcasm at the chief selector for non-inclusion is not right at all.

The four fast bowlers that will travel with Indian team are Navdeep Saini, Deepak Chahar, Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh Khan. Avesh Khan is an odd choice because even though he has pace, he is still very raw. I would have loved to see someone like Ishant Sharma just because he is bowling really well right now.

I wouldn't actually waste Ishant Sharma's time. As a specialist test bowler, he is being forced to channel his energies in the right direction and its working for him. For his style of game, tests and IPL's is perfect (IPL gives him the money; tests give him the opportunity to succeed for Indian team).

Anyways, Khaleel and Chahar going is very good. An injury to the main pacers and one of these guys will immediately draft in without wasting time.

The tweet was unfortunate. But getting suspended for that is just ridiculous. As ridiculous as the unneeded hooplah that happened with KL and Pandya. We do live in the age of overreactions and hyper-sensitivity - so I wont be surprised if something like this does happen

We got a good team, no major shocks except maybe Rayudu could be given a chance. I have high hopes with the current team we have, I don't see anything stopping us from reaching the semi-finals or even the final, after which anything could happen in these knockout games. Majorly looking forward to the tournament.

Eoin Morgan (Middlesex, captain), Moeen Ali (Worcestershire), Jonny Bairstow(Yorkshire), Jos Buttler (Lancashire), Tom Curran (Surrey), Joe Denly (Kent), Alex Hales (Nottinghamshire), Liam Plunkett (Surrey), Adil Rashid (Yorkshire), Joe Root(Yorkshire), Jason Roy (Surrey), Ben Stokes (Durham), David Willey (Yorkshire), Chris Woakes (Warwickshire), Mark Wood (Durham) England Team

The team is pretty much what was expected except for the inclusion of Joe Denly. I think they were better off if they had Liam Dawson who can bowl better being a regular bowler and England actually lacks good bowlers so Denly is a bit of a bonus rather than a requirement

Having fun by mocking the chief selector? Ok, I’ll suggest all cricketers start doing it from now on. Don’t get selected? Sarcastically mock at selectors in a public platform. I’d love to see that world when everyone starts doing what Rayudu has done.

I think BCCI has not reacted because lot of people haven’t yet understood the meaning behind that tweet. When the public reacts, this BCCI follows.

Anyways I’ve never liked MSK but his 3D comment on Vijay Shankar was a valid reasoning. And by that tweet, Rayudu also mocked at Shankar’s selection. He can do that? Again love to see the works when everyone does that. Maybe I won’t hopefully be following Indian cricket by then. That kind of a world - I won’t want to be a part of.

No action on Rayudu for sarcastic tweet, says BCCI official
