Icc Supersoakers Press Release

Today, ICC Supersoakers captain, w3lshrugby, announced the teams for the forthcoming season. This is what he had to say on the subject:

'Well, as you will see, there are a few first class and one day specialists - which means they will only play that type of game (unless there is an injury or poor run of form from a player). There is one exception to this - Sohum Misra and Ramesh1986, these two will constantly be fighting for the number 8 spot on both teams, at some point, either one of them could be playing in both teams, but most of the time, one will be playing in the first class team, and the other in the one day team. Principally with Sohum in the FC team (as he is a spinner and these tend to be more useful in the longer form of the game) and Ramesh in the OD game (as these tend to be more useful in the short form of the game). Thanks. Also, if any specialist performs very well, then they may be given a chance in the other team - If a non-specialist performs well in one form of the game then they may become specialists. If you have any questions about this, please ask.'

All I have to do is improve heavily and hope for some luck and get into both teams lol. I'll be super happy then, but I dont mind how things are at the moment.

Yes, now we all know why MaxKarter is a specialist. He is a specialist in mediocrity and witchcraft. :( (and various internet sites)

 now now Duff. Don't be jealous of me because im a specialist. I know it might not be the same as being one of four? Vice-Captains. And we all know about your hacking background ;)

i would like to report i have put an incredible amount of work into my keeping over chrismas and i am ready for anything u bowlers can chuck down at me

ICC Manager Confident Ahead of Season-Opener
The ICC Supersoakers manager seemed upbeat and confident as he addressed the media fraternity ahead of ICC's tour opener against the Melbourne Bitters in just under a week. "Our side is looking very good and is starting to come together. We've had a few good practice matches, and are working very hard in the nets. I appreciate the committment shown by all players during our practice sessions. This will make us one of the stronger teams in the competition."

The media also questioned Misra on his exclusion from the One-Day team. "Well, that was really a decision taken by all the stakeholders involved in the team--including the coach, captain, manager and many others. We believe that our OD team should be full of young blood because that is the sort of intensity we require. Old workhorses like me, who've grown up off a fresh fodder of the longer version of the game, should best stick to it."

The ICC Supersoakers were runners-up in the Planetcricket Cup--the preseason one-day tournament--and indeed look one of the dark horses in the actual tournament. Misra had one parting comment to their first competitors: "We're going to hit them [the Melbourne Bitters] with something harder than they expect, and that will be our mantra for victory."
