ICC Supersoakers Official Thread

Turbanation, you must be in one of the squads. Unfortunately, I didn't really get a chance to look at the teams. :( Anyone else have time on their hands, and would like to give me an opinion/help me out?

Our team is in a serious shambles, maybe we could consider a line-up change or something?

Like, maybe I should be dropped from the first class team. If you take away my brilliant 5/37, my bowling average inn the first class matches is a shocking 57.86, with only 14 wickets taken in 6 matches. Given that Kamran has only played in one 1st class match, and did alright in that, I think he would perhaps be worth a try instead of me. Don't like the idea myself, but given my one-day performance is so good, it doesnt bother me that much, and we ought to try something as a team. We're just not getting the bowling penetration at the moment.

Okay, I'm gonna release new line-ups in a few minutes.

ICC Announce Squad Changes
The ICC Supersoakers manager today revealed a few squad changes made to the ailing ICC Soakers team. The Soakers, which captured the hearts of many by making it to the final of the Preseason Cup, have shown tremendous inconsistency and lack of finishing power. Speaking to the press on Monday, the Soakers manager Sohum Misra had this to say:

"The ICC Supersoakers have a very strong line-up which is just unable to gel together. We got together with the board and supporters for the club yesterday to discuss the future of the team. The new line-up that I am about to unveil seeks to play as many specialists as we can. In doing so, we may have cut a few players from either squad, but with our contract system, they shouldn't mind too much."

The new squads see a few changes. Both squads now contain 5 batsmen, 1 pure all-rounder, 1 bowling all-rounder and 4 pure bowlers. Misra remarked, "A major problem with our cricket has been the bowlers letting us down. While we were earlier putting a lot of responsibility on our all-rounders, we have finally realized that we cannot rely on these makeshift positions forever." The new squads are presented below. The Soakers next game is against the Pakistani Legends, a team that is ranked 3rd in the OD league. Let us see how it flows.

Phew! What a relief, I still have a spot in one of the squads and hope to play well enough to keep my spot in that squad. Power to the Soakers!

Congratulations are in order for Shan111, who crossed 500 runs this season with two scintillating knocks in the OD games this week. He now has 507 runs at an average of 101.40 and a strike rate of 84.5 from 9 games. Sam Halls follows far behind with an aggregate of 389 (ave: 43.22), followed by the ever-consistent Nik (377 runs at 47.13 with 5 fifties).
