India losing to Australia might actually do good for us. A win here seals our semifinal spot. And a loss against Australia will help us stay grounded.

Its now going to be between Pakistan, West Indies and Australia to take the 2nd spot. WI has one more game and can get to 6 pts. Pakistan have two more, and can get to only 6 pts. Australia have two more and can get to only 4 pts. So Australia has a very remote chance. If WI lose to Pakistan but Pakistan lose to Bangladesh, then Australia ties up with WI and Pakistan if they win their remaining two.

To me, its going to be between WI and Pakistan for the semis spot. India can afford to lose a game to Australia. How good that feels!

Yes for sure, but even with that deficiency AUS batting still was able to score 175 twice against the two teams with the two biggest mystery spinners (Ajmal/Narine). You make those kind of runs in the sub-continent as a non asian team in T20, you really shouldn't be loosing.

Let's see against India where there will be three spinners..

Exactly, even if the matches have been one sided I am happy as not often WE dominate the matches and @SaiSrini - we dont need to lose any match to get ourself to earth, its WORLD CUP and it would be better if go into the semi's with 4 matches win on a row. I know that is your opinion but its a wrong one. We have to be dominating. Its on SC conditions and we have a golden opportunity to win this, we have been into semi's for the first time after 2007 T20 win and we have just been ranked no 1 T20 side, not that it matters

Some general thoughts here.

3 Spinners is the way to go for all teams. Nasser Hussain pointed out that 9 of the top ten bowlers in T20 are spinners. In that case its obv that spinners are ruling the roost in T20, and given in view the conditions that help spinners, its obvious that 3 spinners is the way to go. Pace bowlers as it is go for runs, and the conditions are totally against them here. That is why teams with plenty of quality spinners are doing well.

Be it, India, or WI, or SL. All have two quality spinners and good third options. India have Ashwin and Mishra and Jadeja as back up, Wi have Naraine and Santokie with Samuels as back up, SL have plenty of spinning options themselves, led by Mendis.

Australia were in a way unlucky they had three spinners today but still lost, but 3 spinners bowling atts are doing the job. Further the key with India is that when the spinners come on India still take singles every ball, and thus still score at nearly 6 an over or above, but the rest of the teams just cannot get the balls away against spinners and don't take the singles. For them its either hit the ball out of the ground or nothing.

I am really enjoying spinners really dominating an international tournament like this. They really got the rawest deal with the new ODI rules about 2 new balls and power-play restrictions. Good to see them making more than a significant impact on matches
