As far as the India vs South Africa semifinal goes, everything is loaded in India's favor. The conditions in Mirpur are a lot more spin friendly than what was happening in Chittagong (where SA have played most of their matches). The Indian spinners have been in terrific form in this tournament, and India have played most of their games in Mirpur where this semifinal is going to be held. Also SA spinners wont have it easy coz India plays opposition spinners a lot better than many other teams in this world. We have dominated even the world's best ever spinners like Warne and Murali.

And in the event of a rained out match, India will progress on virtue of being table toppers. And also added to that, SA will have always have the "C" word floating around them whenever they enter any knockout game. So its all loaded towards India. The first semifinal between SL and WI is a lot more even because WI have just beaten a spin heavy team Pakistan in conditions that have favored spinners, and their own spinners have done really well (Badree, Narine, etc).

Only India's own complacency (if it turns up) can be their downfall. And that is why I said earlier in this thread that I wouldn't have minded a loss for us to Australia. The T20 world cup we won in 2007, we lost a game to NZ. The 2011 WC that we won, we had a defeat to SA and a tie with England. Only the Champions Trophy win last year was a loss-less tournament. But that has been rare.

From what I understand, Mirpur is a region in Dhaka. So it is not just the name of the stadium

All due respect to Warne, but Warne didn't exactly have a honeymoon against India in his career. Now if it was Murali giving them pointers (I know diff kind of spinner to Tahir, but still), then ... well ... nothing really, Tahir will still get whacked

Honestly 4 overs from Steyn hold the key, he can easily get rid of Dhawan, Rohit, Yuvraj and Raina. I can see them falling down one after the other in a stack. If however they can see off Steyn then I think India will be fine.
