In my country people changes their thoughts and opinion everyday. if someone play well they became favorite. Those people who are praising Kohli today once abused him alot when he was out of form. And those people who saying Gambhir bad are ones praised him when he won us 2007 and 2011 world cup.
But i am not like those who simply change their favorite if they go out of form.
For me he is my Idol, and inspiration. I learned cricket from him.

Aaaaanyway, back to the final and what a game it should be!

England, as I have stated before, probably have the most modern cricket team going, especially when it comes to the shorter format, not to mention some of the most world class coaches and facilities availability.

The Windies don't have all that but they do have some of the finest strikers of a cricket ball on the planet, as well as Badree and Suleiman who can be really impact matches in India, particularly at Kolkata.

The sheer professionalism and forward thinking of England versus the power and bravado of the West Indies, who wins?

If the Eden pitch is dirty enough tomorrow to start spinning since the power-play, I think Windies will have it; because it means pitch will assist spin a lot more after that and West Indies have a badass spin dept. Otherwise, England will just take it away, with their striking force. And I'm not even joking. Spin is their only obstacle, and it's not gonna be a dew thing in Kolkata, I guess though, so toss wouldn't be as much important as to playing at Wankhede. If pitch is not overhelping spinners, England might just have all the chances in the world to snatch the win.

ed: Sorry for reading that Gambhir debate, it doesn't deserve a place within "World T20" discussion thread, not even anywhere. Please just move on, you few guys.

Regardless of whoever wins the final, I hope it is a nail biter and a decent game. Our Student Union at uni is hosting the game, should be a great watch.[DOUBLEPOST=1459599604][/DOUBLEPOST]
Spare a thought for Afghanistan, who beat one finalist and nearly beat the other one, after having to qualify, after having to pre-qualify...

Really hoping to see a lot of "associate" teams within the main round. I can see a few upsets happening.

Actually i heard that from Kapil Dev. They removed the grass from the pitch in the midnight before the match start . Because they don't want Pakistan to take the advantage of green wicket.
And yes there is no chance of India chasing 192 if they lost Kohli's wicket. And they can't even reach 192 if he goes out (That freehit).

And Gambhir is my idol. I learned everything from him. So it doesn't matter to me if he wasn't in the team. And there is no chance of him till Dhoni was in the team.

Can I get Kapil Dev's number? Kolkata was never a grassy wicket. It has historically been a slow and low turner and some runs. Pakistan this time batted so badly that there was no possibility of a decent run scoring game. And Pakistan is a subcontinent team. If it was a non-Asian team, your argument had some point. But all sub-continent teams face spinners far better than non-Asian teams.

On this Wankhede pitch, India would not have relied on Kohli. Everybody would've scored. Raina and Pandey didn't even bat in that semifinal game. Our batsmen's earlier failures in the group stages had a heavy pitch factor rolled into it. A true Wankhede wicket would have played right into Raina's hands. Heck, I was disappointed that Dhawan did not get a taste of this wicket as even he would have scored (when Dhawan scores, he is way faster than Rahane in S/R).

West indies will win in my opinion. They are experienced and have all the ingredients to win this cup.

I hope they win too. I am backing them here, not for Gayle (sometimes I feel "what's all this Gayle hype"). But for the attitude and the flair of the entire team.

So that Kapil shouldn't be insulted due to someone's false information, I just wanna make clear something. Kapil surely said that, but it was regarding Pak's 1986/87 tour to India. Now, you don't prepare pitches 29 years before date of one particular match. (There's an on-air show called "Frenemies" telecast by Star Sports where he stated that)

And when India's the host of a non ICC event, India have full rights to do whatever they want to do with a wicket. It's entirely on ICC to decide venues for ICC events and the local administration can't contradict it and it's not even allowed to interfere with pitches over midnight or whatever time.

The guy the ICC appointed to supervise the pitches' preparation got ill, so the BCCI appointed their own guy.

You posted it while we were discussing about your accusation on the BCCI that they were doctoring the pitches for this tournament. If Kapil Dev said that about a series in 86/87, why are you talking about it here right now? You post a completely unrelated quote in a desperate attempt to boost your side of the argument.

Its an ICC event and ICC have the final say on the pitches (even if BCCI appoints a guy to help ICC out, the ICC still have the final say). And India have not had it easy. Their batsmen have struggled on the pitches that they played on in the group stages. It was our bowlers (not even the spinners, but Nehra/Bumrah) and Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh who helped us stay in there and make it to the semis.

My money on England Today.
Captain Morgan will play a match winning innings Today.

I guess thwe Windies are a better side adapting the conditions of Eden. England surely were a good team throughout but they don't have a specialist spinner as both Rashid and Ali are all-rounders. I just slightly put them up 55-45.

If England wins the toss and elects to bat then their chances increase.
