Reduced Over Game at Auckland as World XI decide to field first

RR: Welcome back to Eden Park Auckland. As you can see the conditions have improved a bit although the pitch is damp and there are some wet patches near the boundry.

Due to delayed start the match is reduced to 45 overs per innings with 15 over field restrictions to stay. Ian Smith is out in the middle with the two captains.

IS: Thank you Rameez, Sachin to toss the coin and Ricky to call.

RP: Heads!

IS: And it is..heads. Ricky what is your decision?

RP: We'll bowl first Ian.

IS: Not too surprising after the conditions we have?

RP: Yes Ian it looks like bowlers will have some help early on and it's a reduced over game so we'll look to restrict them to a low score.

IS: Any changes in your team?

RP:
Makhaya Ntini comes in for Blignaut and Murali is in for Vettori. Sorry to the home fans.

IS: Tough decision we hope..Well good luck to you Ricky. Sachin happy to set the target again?

ST: can't really complain Ian as we probably would have batted first.

IS: Your team came on top in all departments at Melbourne..looking to keep the momentum going?

ST: Definitely Ian, then again it's a long series and we are up against a tough opposition. So we are taking it one game at a time.

IS: Any changes in your side, Sachin?

ST: No we are going with the same XI..

IS: Good luck Sachin..Back to you Rameez.

RR: Thank Ian. So the news from Auckland is that World XI have won the toss and put Indo-Pak XI in. We'll be back shortly for start of the match.

15 Overs:
Rameez Raja: World XI well and truely in control after their seamers removed top 4 batsmen in first 15 overs. Vaas got the first breakthrough as Afridi was beaten by one that seamed away. Lee then clean bowled Sehwag when he played down a wrong line. To add to the misery, Sachin received an absolute shocker after Lee bowled one wide of the crease and the ball seemed to be going down the leg. There was no doubt in Inzamam's dismissal though as Ntini bowled an absolutely beauty to trap him right in front. So once again it's up to Youhana and Dravid to rescue the Indo-Pak XI. 46 for 4.
On a wicket that's assisting seamers, it's been batsman's nightmare so far and looks like we are in for a low scoring game.

World XI chase 92 to win

Ian Smith:World XI need 92 to win after Indo-Pak XI collapsed to just 91 on a difficult Auckland wicket. It was tough going for most batsmen and only Dravid (23 n.o.) and Youhana (31) were able to make a double digit score. Flintoff the main wicket taker with 9-1-26-3, though all the bowlers proved difficult to score off.
Indo-Pak XI will need a similer effort from their bowlers if they are to make a fight of it..mind you with the conditions here this still may prove a tricky target. We'll be back with start of World XI innings.
