India in Sri Lanka

The South African players and board are ready to come back, subject to ICC's decision in terms of sanctions and such. I hope they have a 5 or 7 match bilateral series in the event that that happens.

Indians are really encouraging. They are gonna stay here for the series.
However the 1st ODI is cancelled.

News on TV (and confirmed by cricinfo) claims that the South Africans will stay and the match that they missed yesterday/today will be rescheduled for August 29th.

Yes. The final will be on the 2nd of September.

I think all matches should have been moved to Dambulla.

Really true.
But the ground's taken over by different people. Now its not under administration of the SLC. There's many problems on that.

It is sad that the beautiful city of Kandy has not witnessed any cricket recently.
The tsunami also destroyed the old Galle stadium which was pretty magnificent as you had the fort overlooking the cricketing action.

Anyways, the start of the first game has been delayed due to wet out-field.Play would now start at 15.30

I think the start of this tournament will be delayed even further. How was the weather yesterday? It would have been nice if South Africa had decided on their inclusion a little earlier.

Match abandoned :(

Are SA staying in it?

EDIT: South Africa have pulled out.

It's still not certain, although I presumeits about 90% sure. This is really a cursed series. I doubt we'll even get play tomorrow because of weather.

A series best known for its many issues despite not a single ball being bowled. A real anti-climax to what should a been at the least a good tri-series.

Now it has been reduced to a bilateral series, and there is still a good chance a few more matches will be washed out.

Oh well, at least theres the Aus, Ind, WI triseries to look forward to.

Kandy is a beautiful city, but now it is raining heavily on there.
Galle will be in action in few months from now. They are going to put floodlights in Galle.

It is very unfortunate thing that SA has pull out of the series. I like Tri-series than normal bilateral series.

Sigh, what has happened is very unfortunate but understandable, I guess. Just a three-match bilateral series remains of what promised to be a juicy contest between three of the top few sides in the world. I feel bad for all the losses that SLC will suffer as a result of what has transpired.
