It was a satisfying victory for India! Mind you, the West Indians are at home and they are known to do well at home conditions, even though they are No.8 or their attack might look toothless. They fought very well today. The batting was very good except for in the final overs, and they fought well today. India did not allow West Indies to come this close, but the Windies truly deserved to come this close.
Kaif's fans and Greg Chappell must be heaving a sigh of relief now. This is his first notable innings after Dravid took up full time captaincy (from the Sri Lanka home ODI series)! He was tentative in this innings too, but luckily he came out of it and this should give him much needed confidence. Dravid batted brilliantly today. His scoring rate was fabulous for him! He is a class act!
What irony that both Gayle and Dravid reached their 12th centuries in this game? It was a very exciting game, but I expect the Indians to tighten up more from here. This was their first international match in this tour, and normally they use up some international matches to get into the groove. They could grab a victory when they were not at their very best. As the games go on, I expect them to get tougher. But this spirited fight by the Windies gives a lot of excitement to the viewers!
