India in the West Indies

Hm, for once India looked out of sorts besides Dravid... Good bowling from Agarkar though.

Of course, the Indians will bounce back, escpecially with the batting. What makes India such a good ODI team now is that there is always is someone willing to put their hand up for a contribution, so if the team doesn't play to it's potential, India will still mostly win as there is always someone. A good example is this match....

India did come back strongly, but unconvincingly.
Kaif was dropped about 2-3 times and i think that cost the Windies more.

can u plz give me a link to where u read it on the atn site. i went there and they are showing england vs sri lanka and not india vs west indies

He was dropped twice, and also there were few streaky shots. Anyway, welcome innings for Kaif and he should be looking forward to score more, up the order.

For some reason, i don't get the passion while watching this series..when compared to other series.

Dasda, http://www.asiantelevision.com/.

They are not telecasting the match, may be only highlights? I'm not sure.

This is just one game, so I don't think we should ring too many warning bells. Except for Sehwag, who is starting to get on my nerves with his overall lethargy.

Eh? He was pretty great in the field yesterday. Remember that catch he took at long off ?

Yes, that was a good one. His attitude at the crease is more worryiing, because he puts pressure on himself. He wants to score, and score quickly, get team of to a good start and for now, it is not happening. He may have to slow it down, play cautiously, get used to the track and then open up.

Sreesanth should be in the team tomorrow, again India going in with 5 bowlers...

Sreesanth should replace RP Singh tomorrow. Thats the only change that I would want to happen!

Sehwag was very good on the field, in the first match. A great catch, and a neat run out! He fielded pretty well too!

His batting has been a great cause of worry in recent times. But this was the first innings of the tour. Lets see how he goes in the rest of the matches. He has to score badly, or else the pressure on him is to grow manifold. When Tendulkar returns, it will be either Sehwag or Kaif who have to yield (i.e. if India continue the 5 bowler theory)

I don't think India will continue the 5 bowler theory into the WC. Its very risky. When you have Tendulkar, Sehwag, Yuvraj who can do some bowling, why have a 5th bowler? Almost all teams have 4 bowlers, and Tendulkar is not that bad. He can bowl according to the given track, and sehwag and yuvraj can provide him the support.

Well, currently though seems to be risky, India are not having problems with 5 bowlers!!!!! They are pretty comfortable with batting from Dravid, sehwag,Raina, yuvi, kaif,Dhoni!!!

And Moreover, Irfan Pathan is considered as an allrounder!!!!!!

So 5 batsmen, 1 keeperbatsman, 1 allrounder and 4 specialist bowlers.... i think this is a right and balance composition for the current form

Well Sachin's inclusion in the wc might take one of the bowlers out!!!!

For the moment....India is very comfortable with the composition!!!! :happy

WC is still long way to go!!!! Before tht champions trophy comes!!!!
Chappel is preparing players for the world cup......currently he is experimenting on them....

Sachin has to bowl a lot before the World cup be fill up that 5th bowler slot. he is a very useful bowler and can bowl medium pace and spin. he swings the ball very well.

if sachin/raina/yuvraj are given more bowling, india can afford 6 batsmen, 1 keeper, 4 bowlers (incl. pathan)!

U misssed out sehwag there ;)
He can get some vital wicktets in final overs!!!!!

But for the moment, i guess serious experiments are going on with the squad!!!!
Even Ramesh Powar is a good find !!!!

Today is the second ODI.... its going to be thrill again.....

Brian Lara admitted as much after the match. "I don't think we're getting the respect we deserve. We might be No.8 in the rankings but we still have a very good game. It's just that we need to deliver more consistently. India needed every last ounce of energy to beat us. We need to take our game one level up."

So its going to be a thrill again....

Sehwag was impressive in the field, no doubt about that! One thing to note is that he is very cheerful on the field, but when he is batting, he goes into a completely different mindset and he rarely seems cheerful, which does not seem good!

And talking about the bowlers, I think 3 bowlers & Pathan might be enough on bowling tracks & on batting tracks, we should go with 4 bowlers & Pathan!

Sehwag's fielding was decent, but he was very, very lazy with his running, which ultimately cost him his wicket.
