India in the West Indies

Looking at the way this test match has started, he's likely to do that, since he'll be spending a lot of time at the crease. :)

Let's see if the bowlers can step up to the plate. Am sure Kumble will and Sreesanth will give it his all. The others will have to bowl really well too. India is not out of the tour yet.

Ideotic decision to drop worlds no.12 and no,22 bowler for a novice who hasnt even 50 FC wickets.

3 bowlers who should have been in surety in the team are actually out of it ,was it supposed to be a joke or an experiment ?????

Teams must pick thier best bowlers irrespective of the pitch ,form and all that.

Infact Pathan looked better than Sreesanth and Munaf in the ODI series.

Batting first was always a gamble which Dravid took and now is paying for but I wont blame him for that but what I will blame him for is that India will bowl in the 4th innings(hopefully) wiht just the one spinner.Gayle turned it appreciably in the 1st day itself.

It might be that VRV picks up 5-6 wickets but it will still remain a poor decision.

Irfan looked better than Sreesanth and Munaf in the ODI's? May be better than Munaf, but better than Sreesanth? Did you watch the same India-WI ODI series that we all watched mate?

Irfan has been a star player for India and most often, his exploits with the bat and ball is what wins us matches. So his form slump was highly visible to everybody and it hurted the team too. Thats why he is dropped (even though the team manager says he is "rested").

So, stats mean the world to you, right? I have seen many of your previous posts and most of your arguments have been purely clinging on to each and every player's statistics. You dont seem to give a damn to what impact the player might have in the match, what the captain and the team management think of the role that the selected player might play, etc?

The statistics are against India. In the drawn matches, the side batting first has made 500+. In the matches lost, the side batting first has made less than 275. At least this match may have a result--?

I feel this match will have a result, I think so!

Remember, Munaf has had success in the test matches so far. and he has also picked up the first wicket, that of Ganga.

West Indies off to a flying start here. RR is over 6 an over. West Indies just need to see it out till lunch without losing anymore wickets.

Brian Lara was too generous of the Indian team when he said that "this was a 200 wicket". The way Sarwan and Gayle are batting, it looks like this wicket is a 500 wicket.

I am sure West Indies will score close to 500 or so here. Gayle is being brutal here on the Indians who are now facing the toughest test of their lives and are being thrashed. I am not watching the game, but how is the bowling and also, how is Dravid's captaincy? This is awful.

Why is Kumble not into the attack yet?

Its not good captaincy from Dravid here. You have to get Kumble in, may be even yuvraj to stop the run flow and get some wickets.

I guess this was one reason why people "over-reacted" a bit after the first day. Its the mentality of the team, you have to be positive all the team and have confidence.

Kumble gets Gayle, Windies need Sarwan to show that he can do it in tests too.

Atlast a wicket!!! its looking as if there was no diffrnce bw ODI and Test!!! When i saw they were around 110 in 20 overs!!! i just switched off the TV!!!

Now nice to hear Kumble striked with a break thru!!!!

Indians shd utilize this breakthru otherwise it will be tough to manage in the third innings :mad

Thank god we got a wicket! As usual, our warrior gets it.

I think we need to use such opportunities more and break through even more here. Need to restrict them to a lead of no more than 100.

This partnership between Sarwan and Chanderpaul will be crucial, West Indies may collapse if doesn't last long, but could be favourites to win the match if this turns out to be a partnership of 100+

yea that was a big wicket but now bravo is batting reall well. and Sreesanth is off today hes really geting worked by the batters.
