India in the West Indies

I know how frustrating rain interruptions are especially when you are in such a good position. However, one must remember that rain in the past has saved India from losing matches as well. So dont over-blame it.

Yep, prime example of this happening to England was in last year's ashes. Rain came to ruin an entire Saturday when we were battering the Aussies at Old Trafford, and it cost us victory. However, at the Oval, constant rain interruptions hampered Australia's chances of victory, much to our delight! :D

If the Windies lose it from here they deserve to lose. All they need to do is survive one day now. Tommorow is Scattered Showers 30% chance of rain so we should see some play tommorow.

um nah mate. I tend to disagree with you. Its raining heavily and its quite gloomy. There is a tropical wave passing over us in st.lucia and its really touch and go for tomorrow...

(off-topic) Gawd, it must still be beautiful down there. It's still nice here in MN, but how I yearn for a bit of tropical climate.

Thats your weather today, tommorow it could be bright and sunny. Thats how the weather goes. My info is from a weather forecast so I can't say much else.

anyways, i am hoping for an indian win tomorrow..

how will the breeze be, now that rain is always looming over? will the breeze assist swing bowling? we have pathan who can swing the ball well....

30% chance of rain? thats better than today!

I wont mind if that rain is transferred somwhere else! ;)

Anyway, it sure will be interesting to see Kumble & Sehwag on this 5th Day, though it is a 4th-day pitch, and hopefully, we will win! :)

damm, lara with 50+.this is getting to be a draw.:(
although there are 70 overs still left.
Enough time still for India. West Indies batting isnt the strongest in the world. Boy, this World Cup at times makes me forget there is a test match going on as well.

there is hardly anything intresting in WC today.
and tests tend to be boring, but when action unfolds, it unfolds suddenly and in a flash.

Breezes can go either way with swing. Most bowlers have a way it swings naturally for them (like Hoggard's outswinger to the right hander). If the breeze is going anywhere between straight across the pitch in the right direction, or heading from mid-on to the slips (still using Hoggard against a right hander) then the breeze would certainly help swing. If its going in the wrong direction, it can nullify it. The solution is to bowl from the other end, but some bowlers have preferences as to which end they bowl from, so you need a bit of luck thats its going the right way.

I wonder how aggressive the umpires should be against "professional padding up". The batsmen are clearly not attempting to play the ball, and hence the hitting outside the line of off-stump rule should be void.
