India in the West Indies

But Dravid is not intent in winning this. He at least got to get two's and three's and keep it moving at more than decent pace and that combined with Dhoni's lusty blows, can help India get closer. But Dravid is scoring like 1 runs in 6 balls, etc (e.g. over no. 67)

Its now 135 to win off a minimum of 122 balls! With Dravid in there, I highly doubt India will win!

Nows India's chance to grab the game by the balls!

What confuses me is the fact that India aren't playing to win the Series, surely this will slightly damage their Test Ranking?

Anyway saisrini is right, with Dravid at the crease - India aren't likely to win.

YES! At least, Dravid needs to pass on most of the strike to Dhoni!

OH shoot!!!! Dhoni hits another SIX! Come on Dhoni! Dikha de apna "DHONI DHAMAKA" (Show off your Dhoni Dhamaka).

Hmmm... With that wicket of Dhoni, I think india can safely sail through to a draw! Unless Yuvraj has other ideas....

Yuvraj Singh is batting like he has never done before.. Isnt that AWESOME? 0 runs off 20 balls? Thats fantastic!

Onto Jamaica now! india needs to make sure Karachi 2006 doesnt repeat itself!

Pathetic performance for by India, they got off to a good start but they totally wasted it in the end. I agree with hondeyho they had no desire to win. Target was never beyond reach, they could have promoted harbhajan up the order and give it another shot. Its like noone can score quick besides dhoni.

Quite right. This is pathetic stuff from india, because they needed to be positive. No one else other than Sehwag and Dhoni can be relied to hit big shots. And it was poor stuff to hold Dhoni back and send the likes of Laxman and Dravid ahead! The openers didnt collapse and had a big partnership. It would have made sense had Dhoni been sent up.

yet another match, India fails to win. Windies were never in the hunt today! It was India who had the chance to take it up and get to a win! They fluffed it up.

I wont be surprised if we (India) lose this series 1-0!

Lol, so much whining.

Uninspired performance indeed, but don't know why people take it so personally. Its a darn test match, not the end of your/my life.

Back to the match,
I thought India had a chance once Dhoni came in and scored a six, but for some reason they just slowed down. Whatever the reason might be, i'm sure the critics will now pounce on Dravid.

But to be honest, neither of the two sides deserved to win. You could not see them putting everything into it.

I really admired Lara's decision, brave but good for cricket. kudos to him!

Even when laxman departed required runrate was less than six, not to mention we had 7 wickets in hand. What surprised me was that our so called attacking batsmen refused to take singles. I think we had a better chance of winning if Laxman was still on crease. He cant hit big sixes but atleast he can manage a run a ball.

Me too nervous now.I hope India gets to bat first, our fourth inning performance is always disappointing.

well, it wasn't that boring when the match was played. It was all about uncertainties. Its only after the match that we feel bored.

I think you are being a bit too critical and negative.

Scoring 400 Runs in 85 Overs is a Big ask in Test Cricket because there are no fielding or bowling restrictions. You could have 7 fielders on the legside or stopping fours on the boundary, with the bowlers bowling a negative line.

India has Outplayed West Indies in the Test series. Just that they haven't won yet.

Definitely should have sent up Dhoni after Jaffers got out. Laxman and Jaffers have built a good partnership already and the run rate was 5 an over when Jaffers got out. It was just like an ODI chase but on the 5th day where the Windies had no specialist spinner.

Definitely! Thats what I am saying too. When Dhoni is sent with just 5 runs per over required, his blows can reduce the required run rate and instill confidence among the batsmen who are to come that the target is chaseable now by pacing it well. But as Laxman and Dravid were trying to build a partnership, the required runs opposed to the remaining overs (or time) grew and it became more and more difficult for India to chase effectively!

Windies really should have enforced the follow on. India may have done the same thing in brick walling out balls but they would have had much more time to bowl them out. That was their way to win, don't know why Lara tried batting again. It brought India back into the game but Dravid followed suit and played for the draw.
