Ravi Shastri: Well viewers, we have had another 5 fascinating days of cricket and at the end, it is India who have emrged victorious in this series by winning the 3rd test by 154 runs. First of all, I would like to call upon Inzamam Ul Haq the losing captain to receive his cheque of Rs.25,000. So Inzy, should be disappointed coz you guys played terrific cricket over the last two tests?
Inzamam: Yes, we are disappointed not to have won this series. We played very well as a unit in both the tests. India had experience in their side and that mattered the most in pressure situations. Today, our batting was unravelled by the Indian bowlers and all credit to them!
Ravi: What are the positives you take out of this series?
Inzy: Our batting. IT has been very productive and it has brought us so far in this series. Razzaq, Youhana, Afridi and others batted brilliantly. If they had remained for some more time today, Ganguly would have been speaking to you now instead of me!
Ravi: Well, bad luck to you now and better luck in the ODI series Inzy.
Inzy: Thank you!
Ravi: Now to the Man of the Match. This is again a very tough job to chose as we had a lot of great performances. But the judge decided that the Man of the Match should go to Irfan Pathan for his 7 wickets in the second innings when Pakistan looked to win.
(Irfan collects a cheque of Rs 5000/- from the dias!)
Ravi: Congratz Irfan on your performance. How do you feel after this?
Irfan: Thanks Ravi. It feels so good to win a game for the country. This is right up there among the best!
Ravi: Any homework on the Pakistani batsmen?
Irfan: Not specific homework on my part. Our team as a whole worked on the weaknesses of the opposition batsmen and I applied them, thats all.
Ravi: Eagerly awaiting the ODI series?
Irfan: Yes. It should be exciting. Pakistan would look to win it to go back to their country with some success. We do not want to let them do it!
Ravi: All the best Irfan. Now I call upon the Indian captain Saurav Ganguly to collect the winner's cheque of Rs.50,000/- and the Pepsi Trophy from Mr. Dalmiya
Ravi: Congragulations Ganguly on the series win. How do you feel?
Ganguly: Thanks Ravi!! It feels out of this world. To win a series against Pakistan is always special. All due to the boys. They played brilliant cricket!
Ravi: Who do you think played to their best this series?
Ganguly: I think everyone played to their best. Especially Sachin. He was amazing and gave us lot of runs to play with!
Ravi: How do you think the ODI series would go?
Ganguly: I think it should be an exciting affair. We are really determined to win that series also!
Ravi: Thanks Ganguly. Now to the Man of the Series. Well, thats a relatively easy choice. SACHIN TENDULKAR with more than 500 runs this series!!
Ravi: Congrats Sachin. How do you rate this performance?
Sachin: Thanks Ravi. This is one among my best performances. Its always nice to play well against Pakistan.
Ravi: Did you have a target on anyone?
Sachin: No. I just played with my mind on an Indian victory! I do not target any particular bowler!
