Yes india won - it looked as if it was hard for u to score runs but it was a close finish there.... excellent first game

You know what?? It was really hard for me to score runs.. This match, I had the slog shots also and lot of them.. Still they didnt connect and I came close to losing the game!! I think Tutsi has taken special care of the slog shots and the timing and power in them. It works very well for thr 50 overs game!!

Chappell: Whats ur decision Saurav?
Ganguly: We will have a bat first. The wicket looks good for batting. If we get a total of 270+, we should be in with a great chance of winning this one!

Chappell: Any changes to the squad?
Ganguly: No. We are going in with the same squad that won in Pune

Chappell: So what is ur team composition Inzy?

welcome back.. hopefully, this match is as good and/or even better than the previous one. Pakistan gave a great fight last match. Lets see how they do here

India off to a flying start!

India are off to a real flying start. India are 26/0 after 2 overs with Tendulkar smashing the bowlers for 22 off 10 balls (remember, without the advance slog shots!). Shabbir Ahmed was the culprit with 19 runs off his first over after Shoaib bowled a 7 run over! Tendulkar hit 4 consecutive fours off Shabbir Ahmed and one sees a repeat of World Cup 2003 where Akthar was hit for 18 runs.

Wicket Update

Virender Sehwag is run out for 10 runs. He misjudged a run to mid on and was found inches short of his crease. India are 74/1 now off 9 overs with tendulkar on 39* and Ganguly on 1*. Pakistan have bowled a lot of extras in this innings (I am also using wk_timer.exe).

India lose their second wicket at 92/2. A lucky wicket for Pakistan and Shoaib Akthar. Tendulkar tried to straight drive a short delivery from Akthar and missed it but the ball unfortunately clipped the bails leaving Tendulkar and India totally shattered!! Saurav ganguly and Rahul Dravid are at the crease but this is a big bonus for Pakistan to come back in this game!

India asserting authority over Pakistan

India are slowly asserting their authority over Pakistan with a brilliant display of batting in the 2nd ODI at Mumbai. India who were 103/2 after 15 overs have now reached 174/2 after 25 overs. Saurav Ganguly is not out on 41 off 44 balls and Rahul Dravid is not out on 36 off 54 balls. Even after the 15 over restriction mark, India are moving alon at over 6 runs per over. But Pakistan are also guilty for giving easy runs to India. They have given 37 extras so far. Unless they buck up, India look good for a total of 325+ and that should set this match in their favor as Pakistan are going to chase under the lights where the ball might move around!

30 over update - India 195/3

After 31 overs, India are 195/3 losing Rahul Dravid for 41. The introduction of a spinner in the form of Shahid Afridi did the trick for Pakistan as Dravid completely misjudged a googly from Afridi and saw his stumps rattled. Yuvraj Singh has joined Ganguly who is not out on 49*.



Manjrekar: I think India still look good to post a total over 300 if they go at this rate!

Rameez: Pakistan need to tighten things up. It is as clear as crystal that the spinners are slowing the rate down. Pakistan needs to press in Shoaib Malik or Butt to stem the run flow!

India post imposing 308/7 after 50 overs

This was a perfect batting day for India as most of their batsmen chipped in with good runs to take their team to an imposing total of 308. Saurav Ganguly was the highest scorer with 69. Yuvraj Singh scored 30 and Dravid scored 41. The highest scorer however was the extras as Pakistan ruined the day with some wayward bowling. Shabbir Ahmed was the main culprit and he gave away a lot of runs. In the last over, he bowled a no ball and Kumble squatted him for a huge six over deep long off.

Pakistan require 309 runs to win this match. The match is currently tilted towards India as any total above 300 on this wicket chasing under lights will always be pressure for the batting team. Pakistan should be upset with themselves for giving so much extras. Remove the extras and the Indian total would really suck!!
