I see that Manish Pandey is getting into some hot form in ODI's, with his unbeaten run for India-B in the Quadrangular series which also features Australia-A. Its surely going to hot up the race for the middle order spot for the World Cup. However I would still caution against picking him because I read an interview of his yesterday (this interview was done few days back when he was in the middle of this dream run in the Quadrangular) and he was giving excuses about why he could not do well in the IPL and one excuse he gave was "I came in to bat very late and I did not have enough time to get going".
Well that's a very serious red flag in today's times and more so for the World Cup. With India having a jam packed top order, there is no chance Manish Pandey can get a spot there. He has to bat at No. 4, 5 or 6. And most of the times, that would mean he comes to bat when India have to go hammer tongs at the bowlers. And if he does not have the ability to force the pace and effortlessly shift gears, then he does not have the ability to be in India's ODI plans until a top order spot frees up for him.
