India Team Discussion

Yesterday great MSD reached Milestone off 800 international
Dismissal at dubai but not many people bother to salute Him

800 in across 3 format of International only 3rd highest after
Mark Bouchars 998 and Adam Gilchrist 903 international dismissal

Hats off MS as he is still not out but MS retired in test now very un-likely to ends his career with even 850 Dismissal.

Karun Nair dropped from the test squad. Fair call. He got a lot of chances in England and really should have capitalised. :lol
Seriously this whole setup sucks big time! That guy did not get any real chances after that triple hundred and now he is not even in the squad for the series in which he must have thought that he will definitely play.

The issue with India team selection is that they don't want to try the players again who aren't given chance to play in the series. For example, Mayank has been selected to play against WI. But if he is not included in playing XI in any match, he will be dropped by selectors to give chance to some other player performing well in domestic circuit. The same continues again in next series.....

In simple words, they be like 'hey, your captain didn't try you for even one game in the series. So you aren't doing much but warming the bench. Go away, we have better players who can play rather than warm the bench.'

Well, Dhawan is no longer a part of the Test team. That's a start.

Well Dhawan know it well, he is not good enough for Australia series in aus.

Big question is how successful
Shaw/rahul or vijay/Agarwal
Etc till they face Starc and company

If a "Team Director" is hired and if he/she gets all the deserved power and the balance is restored I will really be happy. Ironically Kumble is being touted as the team director who will be above Shastri and Kohli and both of them will be answerable to this team director who could be Kumble/Laxman someone else.

Ms Dhoni has been dropped from wi , aus t20i series.

So Test squad for Australia announced. It's good to see the selectors showing faith in Vijay after his dropping in England. Agarwal is still getting ignored despite scoring tons of runs. Losing Hardik deals a blow, one of the few pace allrounder options India have to have a balance in the lineup. Karthik for some bs reason dropped for Parthiv. This guy is so unlucky and the management and selectors have been so unfair for him. How many runs does he have to score now to get into the team?

IMO, it's 50-50 for Rohit's selection. Sure he looked out of sorts and stumped against the seaming ball in SA, but he's did decent in the last tour to Australia, i don't mind if he's a backup for Vihari. Rohit looked good against the short ball as well. We're likely to see flat, boring decks in Australia, so it doesn't seem like a terrible selection to me.

I'll be totally against it if he bats any higher than #6. Rohit cannot bat in the top 5, he doesn't possess the temperament to play that high.

This is not making any sense whatsoever. What's the point of Rohit even being in the squad even if he doesn't have a feel for Trans-Tasman conditions ahead of the Test series? He may have experience playing in Oz but that too was four years ago. This seems so unfair to Karun Nair, who is going to play two four-dayers against New Zealand. This is BS and is very unfair to Karun Nair here.

How is playing two 4-day games unfair? Wouldn't it mean more match practice/exposure? I would say it's a plus point for Karun.

Practice/Exposure to play more domestic games ? They will never select him in playing XI. It's evident from the England tour. The way he is being treated by management is very bad.
