India Team Discussion

Wicketkeeper: Wriddhiman Saha, Rishabh Pant, KS Bharat??

Why not Ishan Kishan as well ? He is a guy who has constantly got runs in last 3 editions of Ranji Trophy and also shown some good skills behind the wickets as well and above that he is just 20 and still doing well in both areas

I know its early days, but it somehow feels like India's test batting puzzle is really falling into place here. Mayank Agarwal and Prithvi Shaw are making a huge case for themselves to open together for India in test cricket. KL Rahul being the fighter he is, wont stop competing for the opener's spot and so expect him to give Shaw-Agarwal more than a run for their money. Then you have Pujara, Kohli and Rahane - the stalwarts of India's test batting. Then you have Hanuma Vihari, whose solid technique with the bat has already grabbed eyes.

Somehow if Nair can be brought back to compete with Vihari for his spot, and Rohit also competing for that middle order spot, and also if India find a more solid wicketkeeper bat than Rishabh Pant (KS Bharat?) for test cricket, India will have great backup options for every batting spot.

Openers: Prithvi Shaw, Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul
Middle Order: Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Hanuma Vihari, Karun Nair, Rohit Sharma
Wicketkeeper: Wriddhiman Saha, Rishabh Pant, KS Bharat??
Murali Vijay?? A solid batsman who has been getting out due to poor shot selection. He is perfect for test cricket as many of us know and he also has experience. We cannot just leave him out without giving him few more chances as we did for Dhawan in limited overs cricket.

I am not sure if Vijay has it in him to return back to the flow he had a few years back. He was dropped midway in the England tour which I thought was unfair, but when given a lifeline again in Australia, he yet again floundered. And to me, he does not have age on his side. Making a comeback to the team is one thing, but performing is another. I am not exactly sure if Vijay have a second run from hereon.

Has anyone watched the episode of Koffe with Karan with Hardik and KL? Hardik in attempts of being cool just fired shots on his leg. I hated Hardik because of his so called being cool attitude, I hate him even more for acting to be a womanizer, misogynist and a total a**hole. He was not funny, he was not cool, all he is and will be is an a**hole.

This lady sums up Hardik's attitude perfectly

Ha Ha Ha! I was about to post in this same exact thread about that Koffee with Karan episode of Hardik and KL Rahul. But then I thought, this forum has many non-Indian members who might not understand my opinion and I wanted to avoid unnecessary argument. But since someone has belled the cat here, I would like to chime in....

Absolutely hate Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul after knowing more about them from that Koffee with Karan episode. A whiff of stardom and this guy acts like "I am friggin' Lord of this entire universe". And the way he spoke about women, was disgusting. That Twitter thread you posted, pretty much sums it up beautifully.

And KL Rahul - well Hardik atleast we know him seeing his personality that yes this guy could be like this... But Rahul is pretty much the same, except he wears this calm/serene/quiet nature on the outside, cheating people of it. He was talking about things like "No Nut November" and all.. Utterly no respect for women from him too. And these guys play cricket at the highest level and are passionately followed by people of the country (in our country, cricket is almost a religion). Wonder how many impressionable kids watched this episode and are already forming opinions in their mind about 'what is cool'. :rolleyes:facepalm If BCCI had any sense, they should be rapping these guys hard on their knuckles for being a part of this show and for talking things that they shouldn't be talking.

I was exactly thinking the same and discussing with my wife, the new generation of kids for whom Kohli and others are role model will think that its ok to be like Hardik, they will expect that once we become cricketers and earn some bucks we should be doing this to be cool. Absolutely gutted by the filth Hardik spilled. Also there is a meme going around internet that people have seen more of KL Rahul on Koffee with Karan as compared to the pitch while he bats.

I forgot one more thing, Hardik not only was a total tool, he was a total racist as well. He compared himself to someone born in West Indian countries and how he checks out women before even dancing with them. Wow that was like a tight in slap for all us fans who even watch him. How he wanted KL Rahul to mention the girl's name just to act cool where both of them hit on. BCCI should not let these ass**** get away. They should be penalized so that they can get the act straight. Also if what Hardik said is true, well done to his parents for showing their upbringing. What else can you accept from a 8th standard pass player or should I say a 9th standard failure.

Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya are the only reason I hate Mumbai Indian's so much as a team. Mumbai is my hometown but still I hate seeing both those still play for Mumbai.

Also Hardik and KL have never faced the likes of McGrath, Shoaib, Walsh, Ambrose, Lee, Akram, Waqar etc. Sachin played and has his records against those bowlers. Kohli plays against substandard bowlers on flat pitches. Taking nothing away from Kohli but both those two players are not comparable at all.

That is the problem of our current crop of generation. Small petty issues will be made huge but the ones that actually need attention will take a back seat.

BCCI has issued show cause noticed to both for their embarrassing actions on Koffee.

But this is totally fitting now. No wonder these two have found so much favor with Goti (and probably Kohli). They speak the same language. Goti talking about his goti on national television. Kohli making ridiculous statements like if u dont like Indian players leave the country totally fit in with this narrative.

Feel bad for matured guys like Pujara and Rahane having to put up with these tattoo wearing hoodlums

These types of people existed even before. It's just that such breed of guys are being brutally exposed in the public these days due to the media/social media. And also earlier, shows like Koffee with Karan wouldn't have dared to even retain those vulgar bits that were eventually aired for the public. 15-20 years back, those bits would've been edited out or show hosts like Karan wouldn't have even asked them.

Also another huge effect is the insane amount of money from IPL, that floods a person, who does not have the maturity or the grounding to be able to handle it. A 9th standard (grade) fail like Hardik Pandya is now getting many crores per year, thanks to the IPL. Maybe the BCCI needs to step up its game and have "career handling" programmes for cricketers before they are inducted into the IPL. Its the IPL money that throws them into a bubble.

Ok ,I hate Kl Rahul ,but for his batting.
What has he said in the show,he was actually decent, and said no offensive statements as per tweeter.Could you please tell me what has he said?

Anyways Hardik acted like an idiot, why would some one speak such things in national television?. Absolutely dumb. Anyways won't say anything about his Garde since I myself am a 9th grader.I fear if I say anything about Hardik's educational qualification, it will backfire.Class 9 is really hard tbh, they suddenly gave us a whole book for our syllabus so that they can make us prepare for class 10. I am in such an unlucky batch :(

And now both will be banned for two matches. Instead of two matches, they should have been banned from IPL. Because for Hardik Pandya the money he makes in IPL has made him behave this way. Pinch where it hurts the most.

Absolutely. Ban him from IPL and make sure that the franchise does not pay him the contract money for that particular season.

Also one thing most media outlets covering this story are doing is - not including the most offensive bit that Hardik Pandya spoke on the show (that bit where he tells his parents that he "did it" with multiple girls; and the bit where he introduces to his parents, all the girls that he sleeps with). These two are the biggest offenders in his comments. And it pains me that there are people saying that it is part of democracy for Pandya to be speaking like this and that it is totally cool for him to talk like this, without facing any consequences.
