India Team Discussion

I think it's a misconception that any spinner will get great results in India. Ashwin, Jadeja and so many others have been so dominant at home which gives others the feeling that any spinner will excel in india. Obviously India is more spinner friendly but many great spinners haven't had the outstanding record in india that you would expect them to have. India is one of the best countries for spinners but Ashwin, Jadeja and crew have always been one tier above the rest at home

We have come a long way from the spin friendly minefields that allowed the likes of O'Keefe and Elgar run through our lineups and our pitches are probably the least spin friendly in Asia now (at least until more games are played in Pakistan to ascertain the type there). Partly because we do have a world class pace battery that also knows how to bowl in home conditions which is another disadvantage for visiting sides and also partly because some of our batsmen do have glaring issues versus certain types of spin.

I really feel like Jadeja has gone under the radar though. On several occasions I've seen him outperform Ashwin with the ball at home contrary to his reputation. They have both benefitted and partly suffered from having their playing careers so close together.

Yet we lose in away series, clearly showing the batting weaknesses in the team
They need to fire collectively

As for home pitches, i think the pitches in England series in 2016 were the best
And recently the south african series pitches were also good

Vikrant Gupta giving some deep insight on the CT sacking of Anil Kumble as coach and the power Virat Kohli has in Indian cricket along with the huge financial pie he also has. Quite eye opening.

Can't seem to find a link, would appreciate one. :)

Ravi Shastri calls Dhoni a pickpocketer. Surely should use a better analogy

The quote read as
As Wicket-keeper, Dhoni is faster than the best pickpockets

Ravi Shastri calls Dhoni a pickpocketer. What a shame!!! You are terrible Ravi!!!!! How can you address one of the greatest Indian Captain like that?

The quote read as
I seriously want to hear Dhoni's reply on this. His witty replies have been the best sight in world Cricket.

It was just a reference . He didn't call him that . Just as you know how swift pickpocketers are in stealing from behind , the same he said for Dhoni that he was so lightning fast behind the stumps ...

But that is not how you should compare isn't it? It feels so bad to hear! Lighting fast is the best adjective he could've used here.

Could've used a better analogy, but you're overreacting a bit. Surely he didn't mean it in a negative way.
