The article isn't conclusive enough. Its just an appreciation bit about him.
As I said earlier, please point out instances wherein this guy has actually single-handedly won matches for
India. Forget the triple centuries- by that logic, Karun Nair ought to play every damn game. By that logic, Amol Muzumdar should have ended up as an India great. But, the fact remains that Jadeja has always found favour with the Indian captain and he has received consistent backing.
Because he is. Your view is different more so due to the fact that you don't follow Indian Cricket or maybe you just watch scores and highlights. I wouldn't blame you since you are past that age when you would be encouraged to not just follow but live the sport. But to be consistently ignorant about something isn't great tbh!
Ignorant about what? Ravindra Jadeja is, as Manjrekar rightly called a 'bits-and-pieces' player. You cannot rely on him to deliver the results, especially in crunch situations. he has been around for a decade and yet hasn't been able to create that lasting mark. Be honest with yourself here- India chasing 100 in the last 10 overs with Jadeja on strike and only 3 wickets in hand. I wouldn't bet for India win in such a scenario.
What Jadeja has nicely done, is to play out many deliveries in games such as the CWC19 semi-final (cause we didnt have a chance). The closer we got to the total, he threw it all away. Adding runs to his tally in a losing cause isn't the hallmark of a great cricket player.
And just to set the record straight-
People dont have the time to follow each and every delivery live. You maybe doing so, but the some of us do have other pressing matters to tend to. Being a fan and not living the game isnt a crime! To bring this onto a forum though is highly unprofessional!
