India Team Discussion

What do you think our bowling will look like with no Arshdeep, Bishnoi, Shabaz..

Shami, Siraj, Thakur, Chahar, Hardik and Bumrah probably for the pacers. For spin there’s the spin twins, Jadeja and Axar.

I see Ashwin sneaking in.

Happy for Ruturaj, but Sundar would’ve been a better choice as captain. Wonder what made them pick Ruturaj as captain when Sundar is a senior in terms of experience?
Previous captaincy experience + perhaps a backing from MSD/ CSK management?

So this is the real India A squad. Wonder why they sent an U23 one for emerging Asia cup?
I don't mind that actually. A few years ago, we had a lot of these 'A' tours doing the rounds. Brought forth a lot of good players to the system. By having the U-23 represent and giving them an opportunity to play at the highest level, I believe the selection committee is taking some good strides in the right direction regards the impending transition.

Star getting back most of the properties here. They even hold the ICC right(sublet to ZEE) for the next cycle.

Sony-ESPN seem to be trailing behind them by a huge margin. Although,I have a feeling that Sony-ESpN might bag the India rights soon

Sponsors of BCCI are cursed.

India's Kit sponsors:
Sahara - Bankrupt and commited fraudulent activity
Oppo - Lost major business due to India-China tensions
Byjus - Lost 70% of its valuation and now facing operating difficulties
Dream11 - Fresh Government regulations on Online Gaming will almost kill their business

IPL Title Sponsors:
DLF - Bankruptcy and Scams
Pepsi - Opted out due to IPL fixing scandals
Vivo - Similar to Oppo, India China Tensions
Dream11 - *as mentioned above*

Not to forget Paytm who was principal sponsor of Bilateral Series in India - Major crash in valuation post IPO

Majority of the mishaps/scams happened during the tenure when they were the sponsors for BCCI. :)

And now Star India gets added to the list.

Star who was India's Main Kit Sponsor in the mid-2010s as well as India's official broadcaster since a decade is now cursed.

Disney is looking to part ways from Star India franchise and looking to off load it from its operations.

The curse is getting more and more real.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) issued the following medical and fitness updates on five players currently undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

Mr Jasprit Bumrah and Mr Prasidh Krishna: The two fast bowlers are in the final stages of their rehab and are bowling with full intensity in the nets. The duo will now play some practice games, which the NCA will organise. The BCCI Medical Team is pleased with their progress and will make a final decision after assessing them following the practice games.

Mr KL Rahul and Mr Shreyas Iyer: They have resumed batting in the nets and are currently undergoing strength and fitness drills. The BCCI Medical Team is satisfied with their progress and will increase their intensity in terms of both skills and strength and conditioning in the coming days.

Mr Rishabh Pant: He has made significant progress in his rehabilitation and has commenced batting as well as keeping in the nets. He is currently following a fitness programme designed for him which includes strength, flexibility and running.

This is a first that we are getting medical and fitness updates.

I watched the final of the Emerging Asia Cup yesterday. While the team did well, as far as the intent was concerned, I felt India could have done with slightly better tactics when the Pakistanis were at 187/5. We allowed the guys to get away with it, due to some poor decision from Dhull. That said though, I feel, Dhull, Jurel, Hangargekar and Sharma might be the ones to look out for, in the future.
