India Team Discussion

Actually this two coaches thing is not easy to implement. If Eng tried it and it failed, India will have a roadmap of what not to do and what mistake to avoid. I would not mind it being tried to be honest.

The dynamics just are that different these days. Of course if India could get Kirsten or Wright to return that would be terrific.

It just sounds like a bad idea to me

As it is we have two different captains for limited overs and Tests. Two different coaches will do nothing but confuse the players. I could understand if the Test and the ODI team were completely different, but that is not the case.

Although World Cup is over but the reason behind India's defeat against the Assuies was Yuvraj Singh. He was not the part of the Indian Team. If he was then he would have helped India to win as India with such a big target played the best they would have played. As 300+ target makes any team fail but the Indians managed it really well.

The amount of vocal support Rohit has been getting from the captain, the director and now the batting coach might be one of the major reasons contributing to his under-performance. When you have such blind support for you and such a sense of security regarding your position in the team, you can easily take things for granted.

Pujara should bat at 3 atleast in the subcontinent. He has an average of 76.57 in 12 tests in subcontinent at no.3.No reason he should be dropped especially with him proving his form with that fighting ton in Sri lanka.

Just comparing the first 14 games of Rohit with his peers and the trinity, as suggested by Bangar
How can he even been compared to his peers? On top of that, his average is inflated by the two centuries he got in his first two games against a weak West Indies attack. Moreover, Pujara has been phenomenal - two double tons in those 5 centuries just shows he has the perfect temperament for long innings.

From howstat.com: its hard to link it as i went on the pages of each player to get it. I think cricinfo can do it in an easier manner, but howstat is more accessible for me from work :P

Critics need to be less harsh on Rohit - Bangar | Cricket | ESPN Cricinfo

Rohit vs Pujara again ! Surprise, surprise: Batting coach supports Rohit. @PokerAce get ready to riot on October 2nd :P

If Rohit didn't seem to have own a place in the side, regardless of how poorly her performs, we would be less critical of him. The problem is not that he fails, everyone fails, but the problem is that despite letting the team down in tests almost everytime he has played, he is treated as if he was Bradman.
