India Team Discussion

Any idea if the Sachin Warne Series is being braodcase in India and by who?

No you have to check it on Sling sports for live streaming. and may be star sports and ten cricket air it. Sling is confirmed because it is their sponsor.

In an off topic note, Sachin has shown his ruthless side as he sacked Peter Taylor as the coach of his Blasters side, mid way through ISL, after 4 defeats in 7

It was a mutual contract and I think its a good move too.He always kept good players like Rafi,Vineeth out.German was given a chance in the entire tournament just once as a sub.The formation he uses is even stranger. His strategies worked well in the first match but he never continued with it for the rest matches. And it is first time a team is losing 4 times in a row,and our team isn't that bad.So sacking Taylor is one of the best decision.

@Ali. How do you replace what would have been a boring regular hyperlink with "Yes It is Star" and making it clickable to that link.

I can't find the link, but I think Kapil Dev has had a go at Tendulkar for not scoring any 300s in his career. Naturally people are upset with Kapil Dev, and twitter are having a go at him. However in this case its hard not to sympathise with Kapil Dev, not for what he said but what he now needs to say. He has started with slating Tendulkar for not getting any 300s in his career and now he only needs to go tell the following cricketers -

Viv Richards
Clive Lloyd
Steve Waugh
Ricky Ponting
Jack Hobbs
Jacques Kallis
Mike Hussey
Justin Langer
Rahul Dravid
Sunil Gavaskar
Everton Weeks
Glenn Chappel
Javed Miandad
Alan Border
Greame Smith
Graham Gooch
Gordon Greenidge
Zaheer Abbas

to name a few, the exact same thing.

^^Just read about it. LOL. He criticizes Sachin for being too perfect and too correct of a cricketer. And he did not spend enough time with Viv Richards and instead spent it with the technically correct Bombay boys. Because the alternative to spending time with Bombay cricketers is spending time with Viv whose home is 3 oceans away from Bombay?

Also he should have played more like Sehwag ?? Enjoyed his game. I love Sehwag as much as the next guy, but the last time Indian team needed during the Fab5 era was another Sehwag. The number of times he made us all pull our hairs out when he would throw away his wickets trying to play his natural game in the most dicey situations ...

I need to be in the team. My Team needs me. RHB & RMF. Just need to figure out, How to replace the best allrounder.

Watching Rishi Dhawan bowl in the Ranji game vs MP, and boy that outswinger has a lovely shape going. Not great pace but good swing.

Looked up his figures. So far he has a batting average of 67 in the 4 games he has played, and a bowling average of 31. but he is tied 10th highest wicket takers this season. Stuart Binny still the best seaming allrounder in the country? ... okay then.

throw in vijay shankar nice article on him today Vijay Shankar: I want to be a genuine allrounder | Cricket | ESPN Cricinfo more of a batsman but a much bettero ne than binny and can send in those 130s military pace and hardik pandiya who can actually bowl in 140s is rough and young but would put him in any day over binny, also dont know what wrong rishi dhwan did to not be noticed over binny.

I would also rather go with a proper bowler (mishra , jadu n ashwin with ishant/aaron n yadav )or batsman (say accommodate both rahul n pujara) than binny.

Star Sports | Four genuinely good bowlers will solve India's No 7 conundrum

this a great idea too,

Star Sports | Pitting youngsters against national team incumbents may throw up surprises

Well puts Tendulkar in good company, one fact though is Tendulkar played way more tests than those guys in your list, and what gives Kapil a valid point is many of you followers hail Sachin akin to Don or Lara. When you look at the complete package Lara simply outweighs Tendulkar. We must ask the question had Tendulkar been a WI and Lara an Indian, they woud have say Lara clearly is the better batsman, lol!!!

Just a question those guys listed in your posts are there highest scores past 250? Cuz Tendulkar was not able to make pass 250!
