Once all the weeping and howling calms down...what is the future for this side?

In terms of the ODI format, 4 of the current team played in the QF annihilation against Australia in 2015. These are:
Sharma 36, Kohli 35, Jadeja 34 and Shami 33, who are all the wrong side of 30 and it's doubtful any of these guys will be playing in the 2027 OD world cup but there's still a T20 world cup to be won, but who can supplement them? BUmrah of course and Pandya is probably a no brainer.

But who else? Rahul shouldn't be in the squad, Sky is overhyped and there's no one other than Gill coming along who has the ability to strike like Sharma or Dhawan.

Where's the next mighty Indian batsman? And can he win the big moments?

They’ve got four blokes averaging in excess of fifty in Jaiswal, Gaikwad, Tilak and Dhull and these are just the ones I can remember with the minimal effort of thinking. Shaw’s also up there if he ever gets his issues sorted out.

Think they’ll be fine, the main problem lies elsewhere.

Do you think the Indian team will go back to the formula of foreign coaches? After all India actually started winning overseas Tests more consistently under the Ganguly / John Wright era and became mentally tougher in challenging conditions. And our World Cup triumph in 2011 and CT in 2013 were under foreign coaches.

Averaging 50 where? IN the domestic circuit? And does that equate to success in tournaments?

It’s not like the current crop of world beaters have won anything. Bit weird to judge them before they’ve had consistent cricket either.

Not judging, I'm genuinely questioning where they average fifty?

If its in the domestic circuit what does it matter, as you said, the current crop couldnt do it while doing the same.

It is in domestic cricket.

Might as well shut down Indian cricket then by your logic, what’s the point of competing if you’re going to be dismissive of players who haven’t had a proper run yet? :rolleyes
