Frankly, I am a bit disappointed with India's double standards here. The support staff has been diagnosed with Covid, yes- but to ask ECB to call off the game/ postpone is a bit ridiculous. Not long ago, another Indian team had 5 players down with Covid in Sri Lanka and they didn't utter a single word back then. So, BCCI, why the double standards?
This.

With Injury concerns over Rohit,Ishant & Pujara maybe struggling to find a playing 11 or maybe yes but India clearly declined not to play.

Whatever the reason maybe.

After the Australian tour, I dont think there was any doubt of fielding an XI. Injuries to Rohit, Pujara could have been covered by Shaw, SKY, R Ashwin. Either the Indians were afraid of taking field in a decider or the focus is way too much on the IPL.

More to do with the latter. This Indian side aren't afraid to lose. So to think about not taking field in a decider would mean a whole lot of rubbish!

As some folks pointed out on Twitter, if it was about IPL, they would’ve quietly taken the field after the entire team tested negative once, and then jumped on the plane for Dubai.

I would disagree to this. Their thinking was they felt was that even if one player gets affected the entire IPL will be in doldrums since a lot of key members of their IPL franchise were part of the Indian test team(Rohit, KLR, Kohli, Jadeja, Ashwin, Bumrah, Shami, etc etc). And in turn affecting their preparation for the WT20. If ECB were careless with their bio-bubbles, BCCI were selfish about conducting the IPL without missing their key members. But I think BCCI were right in their place this time. Covid is a serious disease and the health of the players should come first. Blame ECB and UK government!!

Disappointing end to an absolutely wonderful series.

Enjoyed every bit of it in the 4 Tests that took place.

It was all set for the riveting fifth & final test of the series but damn you covid.

Like we all respected Ben Stokes decision to not play this series due to mental health concern, we should have some respect for the Indian team too. The players and the family have been part of bubble after bubble. Australia Series, IPL, England Series, WTC, England Series again.. will be part of IPL, WC, NZ series next all within 10 days between them. I am proud of my team that they never complain how much the tweaking bloody money makers use them.

This series was absolutely thriller, England were a fantastic host. Lets not ruin this great series by blaming ECB or BCCI. The only thing I am sad about is the way this was handled. I feel bad for Manchester public, the ground staff who would have sweated and toiled hard to make this happen.

On a bright note for ECB fans, Ben Stokes and perhaps even Archer might be in the XI next year when we return. So the final test would be a thriller. Great series, had fun chatting about it here. Onto the next!
