You called Ashwin "our greatest ever spinner" so i made a joke about how Kumble was "excluded" by Kohli, because he's India greatest spinner imo.I don't remember Anil Kumble playing an ODI after 2007 England tour.
To all of you getting down on India's chances, it's hardly like y'all are going to need very many runs at all. And all of your batsmen would make this XI

We aren't concerned about England's top 7 because we can still get them out early. The problem is below that. Ollie Robinson, Stuart Broad, Jack Leach and James Anderson can save England's batting with some useful cameos. Remember, Anderson has scored a 90-odd in a Test match against India 7 years ago at the Trent Bridge. To all of you getting down on India's chances, it's hardly like y'all are going to need very many runs at all. Anderson averages 8, Leach 9.61 and Broad 13.83 in the last two years. Sam Curran averages 17.84 and looks set to bat at 7. Robinson is a useful batter but has played on innings at test level so far.We aren't concerned about England's top 7 because we can still get them out early. The problem is below that. I was going to post this.Surprised no one has mentioned Shardul Thakur as a possibility to be included in the XI.
Surprised no one has mentioned Shardul Thakur as a possibility to be included in the XI. When it comes to the weakness of the tail, he's the best possible option to bat at 8 on a seam friendly pitch. That too, he's a natural swing bowler and his bowling will be far more useful in English conditions than the last time he played in Australia. Given the cloudy weather too, it'd be a good idea to play Ishant, Shami, Bumrah, Thakur and Ashwin for the bowling attack. Given how much of an impact the tail made in the last India-Eng series in 2018, and more so for India Down Under, the best approach would be to play a spinner from Jaddu/Ashwin and Thakur at the start or play both spinners on drier surfaces later on in the series. The other options would be a four man attack or playing Siraj as an extra pacer, which have their downsides as well, if the pitch flattens out it might be hard to operate with only four bowlers and playing Siraj alongside the regular trio would leave India with a veryy long tail. Not even one of those bowlers are capable at batting at 8.
*Favouritism, influence, biasedness*I was going to post this.
Well the first line scared me but the BUT assured everything's fine.I was very optimistic of our chances but after witnessing what happened over the last 3 months, I'm not so sure anymore. There are problems on both sides but I feel India have a larger share to deal with.
- Over reliance on Kohli/Pujara
- Frangible lower order and tail:- The less said about it, the better. Might as well prove to be the deciding factor
- Inability to wipe out opposition's lower order:- Probably one of the weakest link
I'm not ruling out a whitewash, might win 1 Test if we are lucky. No doubt our bowlers are quite capable of taking 20 wickets but what good would that do if the team collapses within 30 runs/10 overs once the 6th wicket falls.
I've also been strongly opposed to the idea of Rohit playing a Test, let alone be an opener. But I was impressed with his occupancy of the crease in recent Tests. It's another thing that he ended up throwing his wicket away in almost every innings but should he have a good series in England, I would be more than happy to shed my notion about him.
My prediction: 4-1 in favour of England.
3-2 England is the most optimistic result I can think off. If we need to win our middle order must deliver at all costs!!!!
Well I don't know about others but I've followed a decade of Indian Cricket very closely and I have seen these guys throw matches from no where. So it feels a little scary to assume things this early. You Indian fans are so funny man. You'll clean us up in this series. No doubt about it.
