Average 1st innings score on this ground is 127/7 so the Captain winning the toss would want to field first but I feel like the bold move from Kohli will be coming so if India wins the toss he would elect to bat first so I feel India are batting first anyway. With strength in the batting department in India and Ireland having played less matches against higher ranked teams I think if India bats first they would score between 190-220 and win the match by 30 runs or so. So I am backing India to win this one :wave Just expect some good performance from Ireland :thumbs

Why is Manish Pandey in the XI and KL Rahul and Dinesh Kartick miss out? Like seriously? I would have batted for Manish to be in XI but based on recent form KL Rahul should have been in the XI. Rohit Sharma is opening with Dhawan and our first mistake of this long tour has started with this match. [HASHTAG]#Disappointed[/HASHTAG]

Raina's selection is alright but after that pathetic IPL season Pandey had Karthik supposedly would be ahead of him. The team will probably play Rahul and Karthik in the next game.

What a day Chase is having, got Dhoni, Rohit and Kohli in four balls! Ireland have pulled things back really well.

What do you mean pulled things back!!! The score was already over 200 at that point.

Disappointing to see Raina leave no imprint on his comeback. You know you have a short ball problem when even the weaker sides are targetting it.

India looked like getting around 230-240 with that start.

Shannon was impressive to watch with his 60. Had the other players gave him support, Ireland could've put in a better show.

They probably wanted to give him a chance as he is only in for the t20Is and also Kohli said that everyone will get a game in the ireland tour so dinesh and kl will probably get their oppurtunity in next match by probably resting rohit!

Yes, I think resting Rohit would be good so that he can comeback fresh in England series

As Kohli promised, everyone gets an opportunity

I dont see Pandey playing too many games in the T20's and ODI's in England. And Dhoni is going to be the first person on the team sheet after Virat Kohli. We should've played both Dhoni and Karthik, with Karthik fielding. It gives Dhoni an extra game to get used to the conditions.

I genuinely believe the time has come to drop Rohit to 4 and open with Dhawan and Rahul. There's something earth shattering about Rahul and we would be barking mad to not have him open in all formats.[DOUBLEPOST=1530289299][/DOUBLEPOST]Rahul
Dhawan
Kohli
Sharma
Dhoni
Karthik/Raina
Pandya
Bhuvi
Kuldeep
Kaul
Bumrah

Brilliant stuff from Pandya at the end, but I wish Kohli had given Dinesh Karthik a bat ahead of Pandya. Pandya is a certainty in the shorter formats whereas Karthik is not. When Dhoni comes back, Karthik will go out and it makes sense to see his batting and make selection tougher (its a good headache to have).

Finally Raina makes it count with a substantial innings, an innings that will surely keep the management very interested in him. Hope he gets the chance in England in the T20's and continues in this vein. A few more good innings could give Raina a good run in the England ODI's and he needs that to make his World Cup case. Fingers crossed for him!

I actually wouldn't mind Rahul at No. 4. To me, he is a lot more free flowing and quicker on the accelerator than Rohit. If the openers and Kohli do a good job and Rahul has to come in only after the 30th over, it basically becomes a T20 innings for him and he can tee off. I think Rohit, Kohit and Rahul can swap places among themselves as per the game/tournament situation
