India tour of New Zealand 2019

So, once again we collapsed in face of a BIG target

This is the only fear I have for the World Cup. Failure to chase big scores after our bowlers have had an off day - it could very easily happen in a knockout game. Anyways, no point getting repetitive. I hope we get such big scores in the next couple of games as well and we overcome them

This is the perfect example of over experimentation and silly side picking. No point discussing. We are winning, nothing will change. My only hope is that MSD now leaves with the world cup. The downside to that is Kohli and Shastri for 4 more years.

Wow, so now hope for India to lose just because you don't want Kohli and Shastri. This is common in our Country when it comes to Cricket. If you don't like someone just hope for the team to lose so that you get prooved right. Losing matches is not a solution to get rid of both

On the contrary, I think he did say that he wants India to win the WC. At least, that's what I gathered from "My only hope is that MSD now leaves with the world cup"

The XI did not look good at all. Too much of everything. I don't think India should be playing 3 WK's in one game. And that is why I say that Pant has no chance of making the WC squad. With Dhoni and DK cemented in their spots, Pant is too much of a luxury.

Good that Vijay Shankar got a bat today and he was pretty impressive (27 off 17 balls). And again, the underbowling of Shankar comes up! He was NOT GIVEN A SINGLE OVER!!! Basically they played him as a batsman? Can't explain the decision at all.

He did not say anything that meant "India should lose so that Kohli and Shastri are kicked out". Why are you hallucinating?

Earlier, I was off the impression that you unintentionally post daft content but now I am beginning to feel that you're a natural. I had to take you off a list because you were the creator of this thread. My opinion like a lot of others comes second and India comes first. But it takes a level of insane delusion to believe that Kohli and Shastri are the reason for the depth and strength of Indian cricket. They have done some right, but any level headed cricket follower will tell you that with another captain and management the results would perhaps be better.

I honestly think Kohli is growing on the job. He has definitely calmed down a bit and learn a lot on the job but it takes a fool of epic proportions to attribute any level of credit to Shastri. The guy just said Kuldeep is our ace spinner in test cricket when there are two blokes with over 500 wickets between them and with test centuries to boot. My dislike for Ashwin is something @SaiSrini will give you a detailed account of but he deserves to be treated with immense respect for his achievements as does Jadeja.

The incident between Jadeja and Ishant during the tests, these statements and a lot of the ridiculous statements and abuse earlier is being brushed under the carpet because of results. I have the sense to recognise that, perhaps you don't. I hope this series ends soon and you can be put back in that list.

Why did I wrote that ? :facepalm Sorry LiveLoveABD. Sir I misinterpreted your statement, I felt you said that India should not win the WC so that Dhoni leaves and Kohli and Shastri don't have the privilege to continue for 4 more years. Extremely sorry for the ignorance on my part.

I never knew I was in someone's ignore list :p

Sir give me another opportunity I won't disappoint you. Please forgive me considering it was a mistake I committed being a teen. Now I wonder why people say the younger ones should not get into a conversation happening among elders as we tend to react quickly to the words without thinking. My bad :p. I need to improve my language skills big time:lol:lol

Obviously, it would be as I am just 19 so I am a bit immature. You learn these things once you become mature. Hopeful of not repeating it again

He did not say anything that meant "India should lose so that Kohli and Shastri are kicked out". Why are you hallucinating?

Hallucinating is a verb form of the word hallucination. According to Colin's dictionary, it is something that is not real that someone sees because they are ill or taken a drug or they are feeling sleepy.

The thing is I don't take drugs, neither I was ill nor I was feeling sleepy. I spoke those words being in my full senses. The word you could've used over here was ironical exaggeration

Anyways let's not take this thread elsewhere and stick to the topic

Why did I wrote that ?

The word you could've used over here was ironical exaggeration

For someone correcting someone on the correct usage of a word, I find that basic grammatical mistake in your first sentence quite ironic and funny.

Sorry, just couldn't help pointing it out :D :D

What a brilliant counter attack from Grandhomme ... Kiwis right back in the game. another 100 runs from here possible if these two stick around

I hope they get to 185-195 range. Would like to see how we approach a steep chase like this after the disaster in the last game

Khaleel has been very good today .. might seal his spot as the 4th seamer for the World cup

So what about the DRS controversy? Front-on replay appeared to show a deflection, hot spot indicated there was an edge, but snicko disagreed. Very tricky for the third umpire. I still am not sure whether it was the right call or the wrong one.

If hot spot and snicko contradict each other, what would be the correct approach to take?

Ab bachhe ki jaan loge kya :lol (Will you kill me for my innocence now ?)

Ultra slow-mo replay and benefit of doubt should be given more importance in that case. I felt it was unfair to Daryl Mitchell. He looked not out

Now talking about the match, it was really impressive comeback by India considering the way they lost in the last match. In the last match too they were actually batting well but the scoreboard pressure took a toll on the bat which was a result of inefficient bowling. The Indian bowlers bowled much shorter and didn't let the ball swing in the air so they were dispatched but today they bowled a lot fuller and let the ball move in the air and off the surface. Bhuvi was very impressive with the new ball. And even the spinners tossed the ball up at times and bowled on the good length area due to which the batsman struggled to hit those big shots. And the batting was impressive once again. A quick start from Rohit Sharma who was well supported by Shikhar Dhawan and when both were dismissed Pant and Shankar stitched a decent partnership and then Pant finished things off along with Dhoni. I loved the way Shankar batted but unfortunately didn't middle a back of the length delivery and was holed out in the deep. Dhoni looked good as well. The shot that Pant hit when he was dropped looked ridiculously funny but he kept the cool to see his team through. What I liked about India on this tour is that the middle order stepped up time and again which shows good signs for them. There are few issues but they seem to be corrected right away but I hope if there are other issues they get exposed before the WC and get corrected as well then we would stand a definite channce to win the Cup.

Talking about the series I think India has the upper hand now to seal the series. It would be dissapointing if they won't win the series now

Teams like India would be very strong proponents of a "Best of Three" finals for major ICC tournaments like the World Cup. One game we lose badly, and then the next game we come roaring back and beat the opposition comprehensively and likely go on to win the series.

Pant finally batted well and got an innings of significant substance that should give him more opportunities in limited overs formats. I still feel he is a luxury in the WC squad and should not be picked as a specialist batsman, but post WC, one feels he could be taking over BWK duties in limited overs cricket for India. Another "more than decent" game for Shankar with the bat. Again he is not given a bowl and is played as a specialist batsman but he seems to be enhancing his reputation as a batsman more and more.

Chahal is half the bowler in the scheme of things without Kuldeep Yadav.
