India tour of South Africa - 2013/14

At least he didn't do his stupid celebration.
:lol

----------

SA had a similar situation last year against the Aussies at Adelaide. 400+ to win in 4.5 sessions. AB, Kallis and Faf Du Plessis came to the rescue and saved the Test. Wondering if something similar can happen here !

It's been a good little session of play. The openers were tested well by the Indian pacers but they have managed to survive. The Indians, understandably, are still in good spirits as they walk out. They would have loved an early wicket but the drop by Kohli did not help. Nevertheless, with enough runs on the board, the Indian bowlers will be plugging away tirelessly. South Africa will be looking to take it session by session. The effects of the heavy roller will be wearing out soon and the pitch could play some tricks. Another interesting session coming up after tea...:)

and now 50 without last from SA in 4th innings.
Is it really a green top pitch?

Dhoni should set up an attacking field. The important thing is to keep the South Africans under pressure all the time. Also, he should introduce part-time bowlers, they will be crucial in providing breakthroughs if the main ones fail.

The ball is just 19 overs old, I think MS should charge his pace battery.

Aggressive field setting with aggressive bowlers. :yes

This is heading towards a tame end unless Ashwin turns up in this innings. It would be unfortunate from the Indian perspective as we may not come close to competing again in the next test. If someone had offered a draw at the start of this game, I would have gleefully accepted it. :p So well done India!

The opening stand,
That's what RSA is looking for.

----------

Highest Score Chased The Wanderers Stadium is 310

Indian bowlers should threaten the SA batsmen by bowling tight otherwise if they score around 150 runs today without losing a wicket, then tomorrow they can easily chase the remaining 300 runs in the 90 overs. Dhoni needs to shuffle the bowling and try to get at least 2 to 3 wickets by the end of day.:yes

The openers have survived another probing spell. Smith does not look settled but has managed to survive some testing questions posed by Zak, in particular. They will need to grind out for a much longer time but the start has been encouraging.

SA lose Smith, Run Out!!
Smith chips down the track and drives it in front of mid-on. Ajinkya Rahane swoops in on the ball and hits the bullseye with remarkable accuracy. Smith departs in a quest for a suicidal single. Poor judgment from Smith.

Much needed brake through for Inida. :clap

Still 350 runs are needed.
Real amazement to enjoy the show.

A much needed breakthrough for India and an equally needless for South Africa. Now, if India get Hashim Amla sooner, followed by ABD, they have a good chance of bowling the hosts out.

Intelligent bowling by Shami. I am impressed by him big time. This wicket put India in the driver's seat. Not want to underestimate the likes of AB and du Plessis but now its only Kallis with his great 4th innings record in the way of India and victory. Great chance for Faf to be a hero here.

Bowled!! Another awkward dismissal for mighty Hash. He has fallen into the trap. After peppering him with the short stuff, Shami summons the length ball, it keeps low as well.
Amla out in both innings without offering a stroke.
