This is the one innings a year that Codemasters watch and base their BLIC game engine on.
Regarding the negative thing. Throwing wickets away by being over-aggressive is one thing but 57 runs in a session is the opposite extreme. Totally agree with you about the runrate though - the ICC are usually toothless on this and especially when India are the offenders.
Why did Pietersen declare?
I know 400 is only 12 more runs, but psychologically it looks a lot more intimidating than 388.
I'm expecting Sehwag to blitz a double ton now and for Pietersen to join the list of captains who have declared and lost.
Strauss would be a better captain, for one his own performance as a player didn't drop when he was captain, and England also comprehensively beat Pakistan in that series. And saying Strauss shouldn't be captain because he is not in the one day team is also stupid, because all they would have to do is dump Cook, and stop messing around with spin bowling allrounders who can't bat or bowl (Patel, Yardy etc), and stop picking Luke Wright as specialist number 9 who doesn't get a bat or a bowl.
Luke Wright reminds me of the junior who would get picked in the local 1st grade team to bat at number 11 and not bowl. Sometimes they would pick a useless player for that role so it didn't upset the balance of the 2nd grade team.

Strauss would not be a better captain! His place in the team isn't even set yes he's had a good year but for a lot of the time he hasn't played well and just isn't a very good captain!
Yardy played his last ODI in 2007 and has since been disgarded by the England selection! Patel was a class player, a lovely bowler and great batsmen who either has the ability to turn it on or build an innings. One that I am very proud of being in the England team!
Yes okay Luke Wrights pick was a shocker and didnt really have a place in the team but he will become a good player and in a few years time he will be one of Englands main players!

the advantage with inida is that they score very fast. if they play full match tomorrow then there is no other winner than India.
