India v England 2008

Yuvraj > Yuvraj Haters/Badrinath Lovers.

Thats all I'm saying.

He made a lot of people eat their words. Had anyone else in India played instead of Yuvraj -- They wouldn't have been able to provide us with an innings like Yuvraj's. T'was a treat to watch.

An innings like this makes me all the more annoyed at Yuvi, because he has so much potential yet hasn't even reached it. On days like this he rivals Lara, Ponting, Tendulkar, anyone in the world for sheer destruction and ability. A Yuvi on song in a Test match is a dream, yet he seems to be a completely different player in whites. It is infuriating. Arguably the most talented batsman in India at the moment, and somehow he convinces us he is not capable at Test level.

Yuvraj was decent enough in the Test arena in India, But really struggled Down Under. You never know, A good series in the ODI arena and he could possibly just carry it into the Test Arena seeing as its the same conditions, environment, etc...

Is Yuvi, Sourav's replacement?

Saurav only became reliable test player after returning back. Untill then he was useless as test player. Yuvi can easliy avergare more than 42 in test matches.

Ganguly actually used to average 50 in Tests.

That was a really easy win for the Indians this first win win gain confidence for Back in form Yuvi.

The 1ODI was not at all interesting or should i saw one sided match, i just love to see the highlights of the opening partnership and Yuvi's sixes

Bullcrap, I'll still stand by my words, to be honest. While I'm prepared to admit, he did make me cream my pants in delight, I still think his place is served on a plate to him.

To be fairt though, it was perfect for him to go on a slogathon, ordinary bowling, lightning quick outfield, small ground and a dynamite batting pitch. But I guess you still need to be class to play like that.

I know he can be quality at times, but I don't like sometimes is the way the selectors show double standards for him, he can fail what in 2 whole series' and still get a chance, and people like poor Badri slave away at domestic level, 2 failures and they're chucked out.

And there is no way on this good green earth, Yuvraj will every sufficiently replace Dada, I'd rather have Raina, thank you. On testing conditions, and against good bowling, he's shown to be nothing but hype, hype set around him sending the ball to all parts like he did today.

No, Just no.

I understand your point of view saying that Badri has worked ridiculously hard, But you can't drop a one day specialist like Yuvi, You simply can't. Badrinath over Yusuf maybe but its still an understandable decision f Yusuf ere to get picked ahead of him for ODI's.

Unless Yuvraj rectifies his game against spin, he can never be a consistent test player. He is almost like a laughing stock against spin. In the ODI's, he has somehow managed to counter spin, but in tests where you need more patience, he is and will be found out more badly.

Also the boy is not focussed fully as Vengsarkar says. He is often too distracted (whether it is because of his night life is certainly debatable). But I agree with Zorax, on his day, he can rival the best of the batsmen in the world.

Well he was wicked against Danish Kaneria and Salman Butt :p
