Good comeback from Lions! Let's see how Raina performs, now that he is captain. He desperately needs runs, with his place in the Indian team under huge threat. His form probably cost us the World T20.

Nice innings from Vijay. I like him more than Rahane when it comes to LOI cricket. Rahane can still stay in the squad, but I am praying Vijay can replace Dhawan. If Rohit wants to play anchor, Vijay can play the basher. And if things are tough, both can play anchor. With Rahane, it puts more pressure on Rohit to play basher most of the time.

I'm not liking the look of this XI. Why to select Ladda and Kishan when you have Tambe and Dwivedi? Smith for Finch too. I'm happy Raina picked Sangwan. He brings the left arm variety. I know he went for a few today but he's a very good bowler to have.

Careless from McCullum but now it will be interesting to see how our batsmen play because there was too much talk about McCullum being our opener and all. Now, GL has to prove its not just about McCullum. Best chance for Finch to prove his case ahead of Smith.

Vijay is not a basher and no I would rather have Rahane ahead of Vijay.

As pointed out before, some really weird selection by Gujarat today. Tambe should have played ahead of Ladda and Kulkarni should start over Sangwan since we already have Faulkner to provide left arm variety. Also feel we need one more quality Indian batsman. If Ishan Kishen is not opening than it's hard to see how he will fit in the team. It's also not worth to criticize McCullum since that is how he plays. It doesn't matter if it's a world cup final or a normal league match. He will play only one way.

he may not be a strict basher like say russel, but he can amp things to high level when needed unlike rahane or dhawan!

Yeah why they didn't pick Tambe is beyond me. That guy is fabulous. But I will always have Finch ahead of anyone in T20. I can't get why is he so underrated. That guy has time and again shown us what he is capable of especially in this format.

I will most probably go with Robin Uthappa. He scored tons of runs last season and has been really consistent but still gets ignored for some reason. Can also be a backup keeper if needed. I know his keeping is not really something to speak about but can do the job in the absence of MSD.

Good to see Jadeja batting at number 5. When he plays for India, he just doesn't have enough time left to show what he is capable of. I still remember those big hits and cameos he used to play when he was in RR. Since he has come in CSK and India, we have not seen Jadeja the batsman. He is a very capable batsman but just need enough time to showcase his talent.

even the taking time to settle vijay can tick better than rahane! Actually the ideal guy would be uthappa! Only if gets a better conversion of his 30s he would walk into the team!

I feel like Utthappa has the same handicap as Rahane/Vijay - even more so, because he is great when playing down the line and hitting in the V. Not so convincing with the horizontal bat shots, especially on the offside. Decent puller though. Vijay is the more "creative" of the 3, but still a bit too classical

We need someone like Vohra or Pandya or someone, who can just go broke from ball 1. Keep clearing the field.
