CSK again faces MI at Wankhede for the opening game. Deja vu! MI is one team that has a very good record against CSK (13-11 in favor of MI) in IPL's. And they start off at Wankhede. And CSK are coming off a two-year suspension. So MI should easily start as overwhelming favorites.
Not so straightforward. Mumbai are defending champions, Mumbai also have a 13-11 record in their favor against CSK. Mumbai have a better record against Chennai both home and away (Chennai's record is resurrected somewhat, only because of their dominance on neutral venues which is not going to be the case this IPL). And Mumbai have played the last two IPL's while CSK are coming after a 2-year suspension.
So everything stacked up against CSK! I can't see any result as of now other than a Mumbai win. But its good for CSK to be underdogs.
