This is just a poor from RR. Their overseas players apart from Archer has been rubbish. You just can not blame Rahane in this game. His game is to anchor the inning and as we all know that he doesn't have the power game to go big at the end of the inning. He struggles even more when the pitch is slow and low which was evident from today's game. However, Stokes and Butler hasn't been upto the mark.

Every game I have seen Manish Pandey bat, he's played a test match or an ODI. Not yet a good solid t20 innings to get his team out of trouble

To me, Manish Pandey in this IPL season has done his reputation of "playing for India in ODI's and T20s" a world of damage, unless the selectors think otherwise. There is no way in any universe that Manish Pandey on his current form, can be part of India's middle order in ODI's unless he dramatically changes his game. With the likes of KL Rahul, Samson, Rayudu, D Karthik, Raina all in good form and possessing great hitting capabilities, there is no way Manish Pandey can be preferred over them. And all of these mentioned guys are more experienced than Pandey.

To his credit, he has been way more consistent than ever this season (before today's game). Even in RCB's last game against CSK, Kohli used Yadav as the attacking option to prise out CSK's wickets and close out the game. And CSK obliged to that strategy by playing out Yadav with respect and not give him more than the one wicket that he got.

So it has become a trend now. Play against RCB and get back your form. Samson, Pant, Rohit, Dhoni & Rayudu (both had played well in previous game aswell). Just considering overall player performance, that has been the trend.
